This post is for Liz. I want to share my transplant story. After 3 years of marriage, my husband had a liver transplant. This was 38 years ago in May, and the liver is still going strong. In 2006, he had a kidney transplant and it too is doing well. Because of organ donation, we have lived a fairly "normal " life and were able to adopt a child, and we now have a 5 year old granddaughter. To anyone reading this, please consider being an organ donor if you haven't already. This is truly a gift of life! On another note, I remember the ICU nurses letting me sit by my husband's bed and watch GH every afternoon. Story of the day: the Aztec princess storyline. Those were the good old days!
