On The Young and the Restless, we get hyped up for certain storylines, and then it gets dragged out so long, we cease to be gripped. The Aristotle Dumas storyline is this exact thing.
Aristotle who? On The Young and the Restless

The name Aristotle Dumas has been teased for some time now, and by some time, I mean since the end of 2024. By now, we have toyed with who it could be so much (and so often) that I wonder, do we even care anymore? It started as a very real mystery: Who was this player who remained in the shadows and would strategically go to battle with the great Victor Newman? According to our Genoa City sources, he/she has been on the scene for the last 6 years, competing with Victor over buying businesses like it’s sport for them. Win some, lose some, it didn't matter to Dumas, it would seem, and then they would disappear like the morning mist, never to leave a trace of their true identity.
Does it matter who anymore?
We’ve asked ourselves “who?” so many times that it's beginning to sound like an owlery around here, but now I ask, do we even care? From fan theories like Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) to Tucker (Trevor St.John), even Abby (Melissa Ordway) has been in the conversation. There was a never-ending list of possibilities, making us wonder what they were really up to, and why they would give the Chancellor back to Billy and not keep it or sell it again for profit? But six months in and not a step closer to finding anything else out, I hate to say it because I had high hopes (like, really high), it just feels played out already.
We have had this idea of someone going to battle Victor Newman, the unstoppable, unbeatable Moustache (and on some level, we all want to see him get taken down a peg or two, even if it’s just once). But that investment is starting to fade, and we all scream in unison, “Just tell us already!” We can’t honestly say we no longer care who it is, nor what they really want, but give us something. We just want to see a scene, and watch a person get unmasked as Aristotle Dumas like the team of Scooby Doo would do at the end of an episode. Picture it for a second…it’s worth it. The hood gets lifted, and underneath: it's Daniel Goddard, GOTCHA!

Well, for this author, hope springs eternal, and it’s not like I'm going to pout and not watch every episode anyway. But tell me, do you care as much anymore who Dumas is? Leave a thought in the comments below.
