Chance went to Daniel's to follow up on the messages Daniel had received from Heather's phone. Daniel hoped to get the phone back. He thought there could be some sort of information on it that would explain what had happened that night. Chance told him not to get his hopes up. Chance assumed Heather's death was an accident, but he wanted to know how a random person had gained access to her phone.

Chance asked Daniel about Heather's demeanor the night he'd last seen her. Daniel explained the bigger picture and how they had a difficult year. He told Chance that he and Heather had lost their jobs, and Lucy had had trouble fitting in. Chance said Summer had told him about Lucy's drinking and the car accident. Daniel said Sharon had gotten very mad about it, and they had run-ins with her. "The last time was the day before Heather decided to take off," Daniel said.

Daniel explained that the accident had stirred up a lot of strong emotions for Sharon, but there was already tension. Daniel said Sharon's outbursts bothered Heather, and Sharon's attitude had been a large part of why Heather had wanted to move away.

At home, Jack saw Diane working on her laptop and asked if she wanted to go to lunch with him, but Diane hesitated. They were surprised when Traci and Alan returned from a trip to Paris. Jack said it was good to see smiling faces, which caused Traci to look quizzically at Diane.

Diane offered to help Alan take the suitcases upstairs. Once alone, Traci told Jack that she sensed some tension. Jack admitted that the problems with Kyle weren't getting better.

At Crimson Lights, Faith updated Mariah and Nick about Sharon going out late the night before and not returning her texts. Faith said she didn't know if Sharon had actually turned a corner or if she was just better at hiding what was really going on.

Faith thought she should be better at taking care of Sharon. Mariah and Nick commended Faith for taking the semester off of school to be there for Sharon. Nick said he would make more of an effort to spend one-on-one time with Sharon. Mariah and Faith were relieved, as Nick could read Sharon so well.

At home, Cameron told Sharon to call the cops and tell them where to find the items she had put in Daniel's apartment. Sharon wanted to talk to Cassie, not Cameron, but Nick appeared instead. Sharon begged Nick to help her, and he told her everything would be all right. As she leaned in to kiss him, Nick turned back into Cameron. "Nice try," Cameron said. He told her to quit being distracted.

Traci and Alan went to the Athletic Club. Traci saw Victor and Michael at another table. She pointed them out to Alan and said Victor and Jack had a lifelong feud. Traci said that as long as Victor wasn't going after her family, she got along great with him. "But Victor always finds a way to torture the Abbotts," Traci added.

Sharon entered the Athletic Club, and Traci called her over. She introduced Sharon to Alan and said they had something in common: Alan was a psychologist, and Sharon was a therapist. Alan said he was writing a book and asked if he could interview Sharon for it. Sharon said she was busy with her company but would let him know.

Alan was impressed that Traci had all sorts of connections, from a rock star to a business mogul and even a therapist. He asked if she knew a real estate agent. Traci said Alan should move into the Abbott mansion with her. Traci was sure that Jack and Diane wouldn't mind. Alan said he thought it was a wonderful idea.

Victor said he had a task that could get Michael back in Victor's good graces. Victor shared that he had secretly invested in Glissade, had fired Audra, and had put Kyle in charge of running the company. Michael noted that Victor had screwed over Tucker and poached Kyle from Jabot to undermine Jack. "You're on a roll. What could you possibly need an attorney for?" Michael said.

Victor told Michael that Kyle had stolen Jabot's business idea and that he wanted to use it. Michael noted that aside from betraying his family, Kyle had committed corporate theft. Victor explained that he wanted to release the product to the market before Jabot, and he needed Michael to find a legal way for him to do it.

Jack and Diane went to the Athletic Club for lunch. When they spotted Victor, Jack said they could go somewhere else, but Diane said it was exactly where she wanted to be. While eating, Jack told Diane not to let Victor distract her. Diane snapped that they couldn't escape Victor since Kyle was aligned with him. Jack said that Victor had seen an opportunity to manipulate Kyle, and he had taken it. Diane angrily said that the opportunity Jack had referred to was that she had fired Kyle.

Jack asked Diane if she was trying to pick a fight with him. Diane said she hadn't recovered from their last argument and didn't want to go to lunch with him. Diane accused Jack of being so preoccupied with Victor that he couldn't see that it was Kyle who was destroying their family. A few tables over, Victor happily noted Jack and Diane's fight. Victor said Audra had told him there was trouble. "Couldn't happen to a nicer couple. Cheers," Victor said to Michael.

Diane told Jack he was staring at Victor. Their voices grew louder as they argued about Kyle and Victor. Jack said that Kyle felt like his parents weren't there for him. Diane said that Jack meant that she wasn't there for Kyle.

Diane said that she didn’t think Jack had ever committed to the fact that she had changed. Diane accused Jack of thinking she was the “same manipulative bitch that [she] used to be.” Jack protested, but Diane told him she was sick of it.

When Diane stormed out, Victor said Michael should check on his friend. Across the restaurant, Traci told Alan she didn't understand what was happening. She said that she had sensed tension but hadn't known that things between Jack and Diane were that bad. Traci didn't think Jack would ever argue publicly, especially in front of Victor.

Victor went to Jack's table and asked him what John Abbott would say about Jack's public conduct. Jack said he knew what Victor was trying to do, and it wasn't going to work. Victor said he was stunned at the disrespect that Jack and Diane had shown their son, and he said his sympathies were with Kyle.

On the coffee shop patio, Phyllis was worried about Daniel and Lucy and acknowledged that they were going through hell. Phyllis said she realized that she had put Daniel and Summer through the same thing when she had faked her death. Phyllis wanted wanted to make it up to Summer and Daniel. Summer said they shouldn't look back and they needed to be present to take care of Daniel and Lucy.

Daniel went to Crimson Lights and updated his mom and sister about Heather's phone and his meeting with Chance. Daniel said that none of it added up.

Daniel took a phone call and returned to the table in shock. He told Phyllis and Summer that the call had been from a hospital in Portugal. Daniel shared that Paul had suffered a heart attack after hearing the news of Heather. Daniel said that Paul was okay, but he could not travel and wouldn't be attending Heather's service.

Michael found Diane at the jazz club and asked her why she and Jack had fought. Diane explained that Kyle had betrayed them to work with Victor, and Jack was consumed by it. Diane said that ever since their feud had reignited, Victor and Jack's mutual obsession had snowballed. Michael said it sounded serious.

Summer found Chance at Society and told him the bad news about Paul. Chance said that Daniel had given him some insight. Chance thought that Heather had reason to be upset, but he didn't understand why she would have gone to the river that night. He also thought the person who had her phone had to have known her well enough to have her password. Chance didn't know if Heather had been having an affair, but he said her death was looking less like an accident.

Nick saw Daniel and hugged him as Mariah and Faith offered their condolences. Daniel was appreciative when Nick said to call if he needed anything. Sharon was walking in and saw them talking, so she hid from sight. Faith asked Daniel to tell Lucy that Faith was thinking about her. Daniel revealed that Paul had suffered a heart attack, and Sharon gasped loudly. They all turned and saw her reaction.

Sharon said she had overheard the news about Paul. Phyllis said she and Daniel needed to leave. Mariah and Faith also left, leaving Nick alone with Sharon.

Nick and Sharon agreed that it was rough news about Paul. Nick asked Sharon if she had plans later, and she said she did not. Her face lit up when he suggested having dinner together. "I would love to," Sharon gushed. "Good, then it's a date," Nick said. He walked away as Sharon stood alone, beaming.
