The Young and the Restless Recap, July 10, 2025: Danny proposes to Christine, Lily chooses Damian

On the July 10, 2025 episode of The Young and the Restless, Victoria said goodbye to Cole, Damian and Lily took their relationship to a new level, and Chris gave Danny an answer to his marriage proposal.

What happened on The Young and the Restless

Chelsea, unaware that Cole had died, dropped by to see Vicki at the tack house to update her on Adam going to France. Victoria let Chelsea know that Cole had passed away. Chelsea wondered if Vicki was holding back emotionally because she needed to be strong for Claire. Victoira noted that Kyle and her family were in France, and Claire needed someone she could be vulnerable with. Chelsea said Vicki needed that, too. Victoria started to tear up and said Cole was that person for her. Chelsea offered to be a sounding board for her friend.

Victoria broke down over losing Cole. She said it was unfair that he was gone. Vicki let loose with all her emotions and Chelsea embraced her. Later, Victoria asked about Adam going to France and wanted to know what was going on. Chelsea shared her and Adam's theory that Dumas was Cane, and that Cane was recently in Genoa City.

"That's very bizarre," Vicki surmised. She pointed out that Lily had been invited to France, and she wondered how much interaction Lily had had with Cane over the years. Chelsea theorized there was some contact because of Charlie and Mattie.

On her way out, Chelsea offered Vicki the option of sending Johnny and Katie for a sleepover with Connor at her and Adam's house. Vicki thanked Chelsea for her support. Alone alone, she sat down and found a "to-do" list in one of Cole's books that included reminders to pick up dry cleaning, call his editor, go horseback riding with Claire, and buy flowers for Victoria."

Vicki walked over to her mantel and picked up a photo of Cole. She called him a sweet man who always put her and Claire first. "I'll miss you every day," Vicki said. She added that they'd get through this, and she wanted him to be at peace. "Goodbye, Cole. I love you," Vicki said.

In France, Lily had a dream that Damian came to her room and they talked about what they each wanted. She said that she wanted to put the past behind her and move on with him instead. Lily dreamed she was kissing Damian, but he then turned into Cane, which startled her into awakening. A restless Lily put on a robe and left her train car. She ran out into the maze of shrubbery but got lost. Cane was watching from his spy cams and saw her alone in the maze. However, Damian came upon Lily, who said she felt better.

Lily said she had a dream and couldn't sleep, and Damian said he couldn't, either. Lily said that she was sick of the mysteries and the games and wanted to go home. Damian said the path was being cleared for that to happen. Lily doubted Cane's claims that that was happening. She told Damian that she had been in love with Cane, but there were too many mistakes and lies to go back. "I barely recognize him," Lily added. Damian told her that any man would be devastated to lose Lily.

Damian said if Lily broke his heart, he'd be wrecked. He lavished compliments on her and thanked her for giving him a chance. Damian admitted he couldn't blame Cane for wanting to get her back. Lily said Cane didn't get to just turn her life around by showing up this way. She added that it was time for her to move forward with her life, and she wanted to with him. Then, Damian and Lily kissed as Cane approached, unseen. Devastated, he stepped back behind the wall maze so they didn't spot him.

Damian quipped he was happy to have proof that Lily truly liked him. Lily said she felt more relaxed, and now, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing that they were stuck there. Cane was still listening as Lily and Damian walked off after she said that she wasn't going to let her ex control her anymore.

Damian took Lily to her train car bedroom and bid her goodnight, but she said she wasn't tired. She wanted to stay up and had energy to burn. Damian and Lily kissed again and she told him not to leave. He asked her if she was sure about continuing, and she said yes, and they began to get intimate. Meanwhile, an angry Cane pounded his fist on a table in the courtyard of his estate as he drank, holding his wedding ring on a necklace in his hand.

Back in Genoa City, Christine showed up at Society and was impressed that Danny had made sure that the place was theirs alone for the night. He reminded her that they share a lot of incredible memories.

As they danced, Danny told Christine that she had not aged a day, and she called him a sweet talker. Chris marveled that they were alone in the restaurant, and there was not even wait staff present. Danny proposed a toast to his and Chris's past, and also to their future.

Danny queried Christine where they could live — London, Paris, Genoa City? Chris said she didn't care where they were as long as they could be together. She pointed out that he'd want to be near Daniel and Lucy between tours. Danny suggested they find a place together. He wondered if their old apartment with the elevator was still there. Chris suspected it was probably long gone.

Danny said that most aren't fortunate enough to have a second chance like they're having. Christine said she wanted to know what was under the serving lids on the table. Danny revealed that each item under the lids represented a part of their journey. Chris admitted to being intrigued.

Danny and Christine had a flashback to one of their first meetings. In the flashback, Cricket dodged Danny's question when he asked her how old she was. "Going on 19," she had hedged. Back to the present, Chris said she hadn't thought about that meeting between them in a long time. Danny kissed her hand.

Danny lifted another lid, revealing a guitar pick to remind Chris of the time they spent together at rehearsals. She said she was (and is ) Danny's biggest fan. Danny admits to the times Christine was a distraction. He lifted another lid, revealing a hammer. Then, Danny and Chris flashed back to when she confessed she had turned into a groupie. Chris told Danny she liked watching his hands when he played piano and his eyes when he hit a high note.

Chris said it wasn't just Danny when he thought that they were becoming more than just friends. Chris recalled the time when she turned Danny down when she wanted to go on tour. Danny said his devotion to Chris never changed. Then, he lifted off another lid, which revealed a hodgepodge of items, including an etiquette book that they used to teach Nina how to be a lady so she could marry Phillip. There was a cauldron, too, representing all the times they cooked pasta.

Next, Danny presented Chris with a lei to represent their wedding in Hawaii. They had a flashback to waking up the day after their wedding together. Danny presented Cricket with a gift. It was a beautiful bracelet. "I helped design it, you know," Danny said. "It's been in the works for some time.

The item was engraved: "To Cricket, with all my love, now and forever." Chris said it was beautiful. They said "I love you" to each other. In the present time, Danny said he felt like the luckiest guy in the world, and that his and Christine's life together was just starting.

Then, Danny revealed a tiny Christmas tree to represent their first holiday together. They flashed back to their first Christmas. Danny said that the previous year, the place he lived in was just an apartment, but now, it was a home. "This was all so sweet of you," Chris said. She loved revisiting all their memories.

Danny said there was a reason for it. Then, he gently walked Chris over to the final lid. He asked her to open it. Chris wanted to know if what was inside was going to make her cry. He couldn't promise how they'd react after she lifted off the lid. Then, Christine lifted the lid and saw a small jewelry box. Danny said he would take it from there.

Danny told Christine that they went from friends to him not being able to imagine his life without her. He admitted he'd made mistakes, and he lost her. Danny regretted how badly he hurt her. He added that if he ever got another chance, he wouldn't ruin it. Danny said he didn't want to spend another day of his life where they didn't belong to each other.

Then, Danny got down on one knee. "So, Cricket," Danny said. "Will you marry me?" Chris replied: "I never thought this day would come...Danny Romalotti, I love you so much. So, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes, I will marry you." Danny put the ring on Chris's finger, and then the two sealed their engagement with a kiss.
