Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Whoever signed off on bringing Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) back from the dead should get a special award. The show could have gone on a talent search for another actress to play opposite the show's three-time Daytime Emmy-winner, Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott). But someone saw value in bringing back not only a woman who had tons of backstory with Jack, but also the terrific Walters, who'd played the part for many years. Diane and Jack were so watchable in today's episode because they're the definition of how marriage does not equal death in daytime. The couple shines as an example of a husband and wife that has each other's backs at all times. So often, a married couple will encounter contrived conflict. But Jack and Diane are proof that a duo can be just as interesting and just as dynamic when they support each other at every turn. At Jabot, it appeared that Diane was going to balk at Jack kicking around the idea that he use the Artificial Intelligence software to destroy Victor. Instead, Diane surprised us by staring Jack right in the eye and telling her husband that she was all in! The couple sealed the deal with a passionate kiss! There are many power couples in Genoa City, but today's episode was a reminder that Jack and Diane are at the top of that list!
