At the park, Summer updated Chance on everything good in her life and thanked him for listening and giving great advice lately. She recounted how she had eased tension with Claire and had a great meeting about Marchetti Z, and how the custody compromise with Kyle was on track. Summer said that Chance was a good influence on her, and she realized how lucky she was to have a guy like him to turn to.
Chance told Summer that since Lily had left, Billy’s megalomania was in overdrive. Chance said he felt a sense of loyalty to the company because of Katherine, not Billy. Summer advised that no one should stay in a job if they were unhappy there. She said that if Chance wasn’t one of Billy’s loyal followers, Billy would throw Chance overboard. Summer suggested that Chance get out before it got too messy at Chancellor. Chance said there was one possibility that could solve things, but it was radical and risky.

At Abbott-Chancellor, Billy was busy coordinating a new press release and launch of the company when Katie arrived, expecting to go to lunch with him. Billy had forgotten that they had made a lunch date, but he took her to Society. Katie tried to tell her dad about a problem and was frustrated when Billly’s phone kept ringing. She snapped that his problems were more important than hers, so Billy turned off his phone and gave his daughter his full attention.
Katie explained that she felt she deserved to be captain of her field hockey team, so Billy asked her to tell him the reasons she believed that. Billy said she was confident and determined and had the necessary skills. “Let’s talk about what happens if you don’t get picked, because it might happen,” Billy said. Billy reminded Katie that although it felt "make or break" to her, the reality was that if she didn’t get it, she would keep trying. “You’re going to do this, and when you do, you’re going to prove to everyone that you deserved it all along,” Billy said.

When Billy and Katie returned to the office, Chance was waiting. Katie thanked her dad and left. Billy turned to Chance and asked if he was there to apologize for overstepping earlier. Chance told Billy it was time to make some things very clear.
At Crimson Lights, Heather and Daniel talked to Lucy on the patio. They said that since she'd been released from the hospital, it was time to talk about the next steps. Lucy was beside herself and only wanted to know what her punishment was. Heather and Daniel explained that they were worried about Lucy and wanted her to talk to a professional to find out what was going on and why she was turning to alcohol as a solution. Lucy scoffed at seeing a therapist and snapped, “Are you done now?”
Heather and Daniel told Lucy that she had not only broken house rules but laws, as well. They reminded her she was lucky that no one had gotten killed. Lucy rolled here eyes and said that she had learned her lesson. Daniel said that was the same thing she'd said the last time she'd drunk. Heather and Daniel reiterated that they'd believed Lucy the last time, but she'd betrayed their trust and ignored her punishment. They told her saying sorry wasn’t enough. Heather said she had spent her career following the law, and she was going to uphold it with Lucy, too. “I hope you’re ready for it,” Heather warned.
Summer joined Lucy and her parents at their table and watched silently as Daniel and Heather spelled out Lucy’s punishment. Daniel started by explaining that they wanted to be fair but needed to impress the severity of Lucy’s actions. Had Lucy been charged, she would have been fined $250, so they said she needed to donate that amount to Cassie’s Challenge, Sharon’s charity that drew awareness to underage drinking. Next, Lucy would have been sentenced to 32 hours of community service, and she had to do the time. Last, she would have lost her driving privileges had she been formally charged. “I know you were planning on taking Driver’s Ed next year, but you’ll have to postpone that,” Heather said. Heather and Daniel said that they hoped Lucy would think twice about drinking again and that she was lucky it wasn’t going on her record. Lucy pouted, saying that she didn’t feel lucky at all, and she went home.
Summer told Daniel and Heather that she had watched Lucy’s face as they'd given their punishment, and Summer didn’t think Lucy understood the impact of her actions. Summer felt that they had been too lenient on Lucy. They all agreed that Lucy seemed more concerned about the punishment than what she'd done. “Admitting what you did is the most brutal part and where the real lessons come in,” Summer said. Summer suggested that Lucy write a letter of apology to Faith and her family. “Maybe forcing her to sit down and write about the pain and fear that she caused will make her think about it,” Summer added. Daniel agreed and said, “I don’t want her to make the same deadly mistake I did.”
At the hospital, while Faith was resting, Nick and Sharon worried that the doctors weren’t updating them. Phyllis came in with a big teddy bear, and Sharon’s demeanor immediately darkened. Sharon snidely told Phyllis to leave. Faith awoke and asked why she was still in the hospital if Lucy had been released. Sharon said the doctors were just being cautious. “I really messed up my body when I had that truck accident,” Faith recalled.
In the hallway, Nick apologized for Sharon’s abruptness, but Phyllis was empathetic. Nick admitted that he was worried and scared. “We’ve just been here so many times,” Nick said. Phyllis reminded him that the situation was nothing like the ones in the past. Nick said the longer the doctors took to tell them something, the more wound up he got. He noted that it was the last thing Sharon needed.
Phyllis listened and assured Nick that he was a great dad. Phyllis added that she always admired how calm and supportive Nick was to others in a crisis. As she encouraged him that Faith would be okay, Phyllis put her hand on Nick's cheek. Just then, Sharon walked up. She haughtily told Phyllis that she should go, but Faith called out and asked to talk to Phyllis.
Phyllis went to Faith’s bedside and was surprised when Faith cried and asked for Phyllis’ forgiveness. Phyllis told Faith that Lucy had created the situation and that Faith had done the right thing. Phyllis said that if Faith hadn’t gone when Lucy had asked her to, Lucy might have gotten into a stranger’s car, and things could have been a lot worse. Phyllis told Faith she was grateful for what Faith had done and that no one was to blame for the accident.
Sharon listened to Phyllis’ words as Cameron stepped up behind Sharon and said, “We both know that’s not true. Someone is definitely to blame. So, no more denials, no more lies. It’s time real consequences were faced.”
