Is Billy Being Naive About Aristotle's Intentions On The Young and the Restless

Billy (Jason Thompson) has his brother Jack as an investment partner and also Aristotle Dumas, who no one knows who this person is, and at this point could be a man or woman. Billy believes Aristotle will help him get Chancellor back, but fans and viewers question why he would do this and then give it to Billy. Aristotle loves to spar with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but the thrill of the hunt and getting one over on his old adversary can't be the only reason he’s chosen to help Billy.

Billy tells Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Sally (Courtney Hope), and even his brother Jack (Peter Bergman) that his goal and reason for creating his new company is not revenge against Victor. It’s hard to see how that could be true, given the way Billy is operating. Sally knows something is up, and given how great things are going between Sally and Billy, her suspicions and Billy's lies could bring this to an end before they get going. The Soap Central Message Boards are alive with discussion on this topic, and it’s always interesting to read what others think and how they feel about the events unfolding on screen.

Billy Isn't Thinking The Dumas Angle Through

“I think Billy is being naive about Dumas' true intentions, and he'll inevitably pay a price. He always thinks he has an upper hand in whatever his scheme is .. and he always gets burned. Billy never wins because revenge is always his motive. What a slow learner he is!” -Board User kha

“I totally agree, well said. Billy never learns! He has it good now with Sally, starting a new company, but he has to go mess everything up with his lying to Sally and his revenge plot, which you know will backfire on him.” - Board User Glorygal21

“Billy unfortunately is so desperate for a win that some people can smell him coming and will take advantage of that like I believe Aristotle Dumas is. All Billy wants is for Victor to be taken down and he still wants Chancellor back even though it is no longer his family company! Because Billy doesn't listen to anyone and believes he has all the answers and I hate to say it but he trusts too easily without thinking things through like we are seeing with his new partnership with Dumas, a man he has never met but he trusts that Dumas will right the wrongs done to him! I can't believe Billy not once thought that maybe Dumas will double cross him in the end and is just filling his head with lies and telling him what he wants to hear to gain his trust! Billy should never have taken Jack's money because he is taken a gamble on Dumas being on the up and up while Jack's investment is on the line....not cool at all.” - Valued Contributor zenmaster5

We are all in agreement here; it seems that Billy’s day of reckoning is approaching on The Young and the Restless, and Dumas likely has his own agenda, which i doubt we shall see until we know more about this enigma. Share your thoughts below in the comments.
