Nick came to Sharon's in the morning to check on Faith and her. Sharon was in good spirits when she entered the room with breakfast made. Sharon told Nick and Faith that she had a therapy session, and Nick offered to drive her.
Nick admitted that he had called Sharon's doctor for guidance while Sharon had been missing. Sharon was taken aback, but Nick assured her that the doctor had respected her confidentiality. Nick apologized for invading her privacy. Sharon said Nick was just concerned, and she appreciated it.
Sharon asked Nick to fix a stuck window upstairs. Cameron appeared when Nick and Faith left the room. Cameron told Sharon that she was putting on a good show, and no one should suspect her of murdering Heather.
Sharon told Cameron that her emotional suppression could backfire. Cameron told Sharon she had to keep up the pretenses for the rest of her life. Cameron gave Sharon a pep talk and praised her work. Sharon said she couldn't "live like this" and needed to get better. Cameron warned her to be careful how honest she was with her doctor. Cameron reminded Sharon that killing Daniel was the solution to getting the peace she needed. Sharon resisted Cameron's advice. Nick and Faith returned, and Nick took Sharon to her appointment.

In Victor's office, Audra pitched her new product idea. She apologized to Victor for not having a prototype but explained that Kyle had torpedoed her project. Audra said that Kyle canceled her supply order and said he was sabotaging her even if it damaged the company. Kyle walked in as Audra told Victor that Kyle didn't have Glissade's best interests at heart. Victor repeated Audra's claims and asked Kyle if he wanted to defend himself.
Kyle and Audra accused each other of lying and began bickering. Victor said that since they couldn't work together and both wanted to run the company, he would give them a challenge. Victor told Audra and Kyle to prove to him who was expendable. "May the most ruthless one win? Challenge accepted," Kyle said.
At Society, Jack told Diane about his conversation with Billy. Jack shared that he had found out that trouble was brewing at Newman Enterprises. "That could only be good for us," Jack said.
Jack explained that Victoria had offered Billy a buyout behind Victor's back. Diane snapped that nothing about Victor wanting Abbott-Chancellor helped her and Jack. She told Jack to let Billy sink or swim on his own. Jack was shocked when Diane advised him not to let Billy drag him down.
Diane coldly told Jack that they didn't need to be focused on helping anyone but themselves. She said Jabot needed a replacement for Kyle. Jack thought they were waiting, but Diane didn't see the point. Jack suggested that replacing Kyle would only upset their son more. Diane said the position needed to be filled. Otherwise, the company looked inept, and Jabot would be a laughingstock.
Jack said no one would laugh at Jabot under his watch. "Our watch," Diane said as she grimaced. Jack was incredulous at Diane's attitude. He said it seemed like she was more concerned about the company than about their son. Diane didn't know what else she could do to mend things with Kyle.
Jack left to make a call as Audra entered Society. Diane stopped her and asked what it would take to get Audra's claws out of Kyle. Audra shot back about how Diane wanted power and control at the expense of Kyle. Diane barked that Audra was only in the position Audra was in because of sleeping with Tucker. Jack broke up their argument and apologized to Audra for Diane's behavior. Audra watched from the bar as Diane raged at Jack for not defending her or trusting her judgment.
At Crimson Lights, Daniel asked Phyllis and Summer if they had heard from Heather. He told them about the text message he had received from her, claiming that she was upset about Sharon and was leaving town for a few days. Daniel called Paul and left a message, asking if he had heard from Heather.
Phyllis suggested that Heather had gone alone to see Paul in Portugal. Summer asked Daniel if he and Heather had gotten in a fight. Daniel recalled that Heather wasn't thrilled about staying in Genoa City, but he had thought they were on the same page. He wondered if he had driven Heather away again. Summer told Daniel not to panic, but he worried that Heather was lying about her feelings and was leaving him.
Daniel started to spiral with worries. Summer reminded Daniel that Heather hadn't even been missing for 24 hours. Phyllis made him laugh when she told him he'd gotten the crazy worrying gene from her. Summer and Phyllis both assured him everything would be okay.
Nick and Sharon went to Crimson Lights after her appointment. Sharon said she felt like she was back on track and that everything felt right again. Nick was glad to hear it, but her face fell when she spotted the Romalottis on the patio. As she and Daniel made eye contact, Cameron told Sharon to keep it together.
Daniel told Phyllis and Summer that he couldn't deal with Sharon. His mom and sister agreed. Summer had things to do, but Phyllis said that Daniel should meet her at the Athletic Club and that she would buy him breakfast. Summer and Phyllis wanted to say hello to Nick before leaving.
Summer and Phyllis walked up to Sharon and Nick. Before they could talk, Sharon immediately apologized to Phyllis. Sharon said that her reactions to Phyllis had been defensive and rude. "I'd like to say it'll never happen again, but who knows with us two, am I right?" Sharon said lightheartedly. Taken aback, Summer and Phyllis made their excuses to leave.
Kyle arrived at home and noticed his mom's laptop open on the desk. Kyle noted it was logged in and opened a "new projects" folder. Kyle was pleased with what he found and headed straight to Victor's office.
Kyle told Victor that he was what Victor needed, and Audra was not. Kyle told Victor that he had found out about a top-secret product that Jabot had in their pipeline. Kyle said it was a game-changing moisturizer that would be industry-leading. Kyle said Victor could beat Jabot to the punch by bringing it to the market first.
Victor asked if Kyle was willing to go against his parents. Kyle said they could pull out the rug from under Jack and Diane. "This will make Glissade not a rival against Jabot, but its superior," Kyle said. He told Victor he had one caveat. Kyle said he would only go to that extreme against his family if Audra was fired.
At Crimson Lights, Nick told Sharon her apology to Phyllis had been gracious. Sharon said she probably owed apologies to everyone she had encountered over the past few weeks. Nick told her to cut herself some slack. Sharon suggested she should stay at the coffee shop and get caught up on things. Nick said he didn't mind hanging out and helping her. Mariah called to check in on Sharon.
Audra returned to Victor's office and told him she knew something that could thwart the competition. She gossiped about seeing Jack and Diane fight, and Victor wasn't impressed. Audra said Kyle would never tell Victor about his parents' discord, but his family loyalty would eventually interfere with Glissade's success.
"Kyle is the weak link, not me," Audra said. She reminded Victor that she had no emotional attachment to the Abbotts. Victor informed Audra that Kyle had just left. "I can counter whatever he offered. I just need a little bit more time," Audra said. Victor looked at Audra and said, "Miss Charles, thank you for your service. You're fired."
Daniel was hanging up from a call with Paul as Phyllis joined him at the Athletic Club. Paul had told Daniel that he had heard from Heather, but she wasn't in Portugal. Paul had said that Heather had also sent him a text, saying the same thing about needing to get away for a few days to clear her head.
Daniel told Phyllis he wished Heather would have just talked to him instead of leaving. Phyllis was cheering him up when his phone rang again. He looked at the call display and saw it was the police calling. Phyllis waited anxiously, only hearing Daniel's side of the conversation. He said, "Yes, this Daniel Romalotti…What? Are you sure?...No, I understand. I'll be right there." When he hung up, Phyllis asked what they had said. "They think they found Heather's body," Daniel said, stunned.
Daniel said the police had told him that a fisherman had found a body in the river. Daniel said in disbelief that they had matched the fingerprints to Heather's and wanted him to go to the station and identify her body. Phyllis said it had to be a mistake, and she insisted that she would accompany him to the station. Daniel told her that he had to do it on his own. He said he would go there and tell the police they were wrong. Phyllis was horrified as she watched Daniel leave.
At Society, Kyle sauntered in and bumped into Jack and Diane. He told them that even seeing them couldn't ruin his good mood. Diane asked if it had something to do with Audra, as she had just been there. "Audra? Audro who?" Kyle said as he smirked.
Nick watched Sharon happily chat with Mariah while working behind the Crimson Lights counter. Across town, Daniel was entering the morgue. He stared at the sheet-covered body with trepidation. Slowly, the coroner pulled back the sheet, revealing Heather's dead body.
