Mishael Morgan's new film, a thriller titled Sway, to premiere in February

Sway, a new suspense thriller starring The Young and the Restless' Mishael Morgan, will have its premiere next month. Morgan also served as an executive producer on the film.

It's a busy time for Daytime Emmy winner Mishael Morgan. Earlier in the week, the actress announced that she'll be returning to The Young and the Restless. Now comes word that another of the actress' projects is getting ready for its close-up.

Sway, described as "a gripping thriller/drama," will be premiering at the Pan African Film Festival. Morgan stars in and serves as an executive producer on the film.

Filmed in Toronto, Sway follows the life of James "Sway" Drayton, a prominent young Black community leader facing unexpected challenges that unravel his world. What sort of challenges? His brother goes missing, and he becomes ensnared in a web of blackmail orchestrated by a mysterious woman. Oh, and there's also a murder that creates even more drama.

Sway was produced by Emmanuel Kabongo, written by Charlie Hamilton, and directed by Charlie Hamilton and Zachart Ramelan. The cast includes Morgan as Lisa, Kabongo as the title character, Lovell Adams-Gray, and Brittany Raymond.

The film will premiere in Los Angeles on February 8 and 10, and in Toronto on February 17. Details on a wider release will be announced at a later date.

Sway isn't Morgan's first silver screen role. She's appeared previously in Total Recall, You Got Served: Beat the World, and Casino Jack. Morgan made her Y&R debut in June 2013 as Hilary Curtis. She'll be returning to Y&R next month as Amanda Sinclair, Hilary's twin sister.
