The Young and the Restless' Peter Bergman on Jack's storyline: "America is gonna flip!"

Buckle up! Peter Bergman says a shocking surprise is coming down the pipeline for The Young and the Restless' Jack Abbott that's set to "jolt the audience."

Jack Abbott's life on The Young and the Restless was recently turned upside down with the shocking news that his estranged son Keemo had died. The character is now grappling with a lot of guilt over having not mended their father/son relationship sooner, but according to portrayer Peter Bergman, this is just the beginning of a storyline that will eventually take Jack on a very unexpected journey.

In a new interview with Soaps, Bergman reveals that his longtime alter ego will begin looking into Keemo's life, and when he does, he'll find a huge surprise. Then, "following the surprise, what comes next is going to shock the audience!"

The actor isn't able to reveal the specific details about what's ahead; however, he does tease that the writers are firing on all cylinders with this storyline, and he has been enjoying every moment of taping.

"I watch through the eyes of the audience, and every now and then, you get material where you think, 'Oh my God, America is gonna flip!'" he says, adding that he sometimes thinks he should start planning the next chapter of his life, but stories like these change his attitude. "You think, 'Agewise, maybe it's appropriate for the show to consider moving on.' And then a new story comes along that jolts me and is going to jolt the audience."
