Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman, The Young and the Restless) will be working with her real-life mom, Barbara Alyn Lind, in Chucky, the Syfy/USA series that is taking her out of Genoa City.
The Young and the Restless' Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman) is trading her daytime family for her real-life family! The actress will be working with her mom, Barbara Alyn Lind, in the new SyFy and USA series Chucky, a reincarnation of the horror/slasher Child's Play film franchise that features a red-haired, freckle-faced doll possessed by the soul of a notorious serial killer.
As Soap Central previously reported, Chucky will follow the residents of an idyllic American town who are thrown into chaos when a series of horrific murders happens after a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale. Lind chose to walk away from Y&R -- where she's been playing Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon's (Sharon Case) daughter since 2011 -- in order to play series regular character Lexy Taylor, a mean girl who spends her time bullying other students. Barbara Alyn Lind will be playing her daughter's on-screen mom, Mayor Michelle Cross, who, according to TV Line, is caught between caring for her children and "maintaining Hackensack's safe image with the rising tide of mysterious violence, which she has no idea has been caused by a child's doll."

The real-life mother and daughter Linds will star alongside Zackary Arthur as Jake Webber, a loner trying to find his place in the world after his mom's death; Teo Briones as Jake's cousin Junior, an all-American, over-achieving jock who is dating Lind's Lexy; and Bjrgvin Arnarson as Devon Lopez, a boy-next-door true-crime junkie who is hellbent on making sense of the town's mysterious tragedies, both past and present.
Chucky will also see the addition of Final Destination star Devon Sawa, who will recur on the project, and the return of Child's Play star Jennifer Tilly, who will be reprising her role as Tiffany Valentine from the movies.
In a recent interview with Soap Central, Alyvia Alyn Lind opened up about the fact that her mother and her older sisters, Natalie Alyn Lind and Emily Alyn Lind (ex-Emma Lavery, All My Children), are also actors, so, when it comes to acting out serious topics like Faith's underage drinking or Lexy's mean-spirited bullying in the midst of a town being ravaged by a killer, she always relies on their advice.
"My entire family is in the business, and we all have very open communication about every little issue," she revealed. "When I started doing [Faith's drinking] storyline specifically, my mom told me that she loves when me and my sisters get roles where we can break the rules on camera and get it out of our system, so we don't have to do it in real life!"
