With a history of beauty pageants behind her, Lexie Stevenson (Mattie Ashby, The Young and the Restless) has thrown her hat in the ring for the Miss California USA pageant 2020. The actress aims to spread awareness about endometriosis via her journey to the crown.
Lexie Stevenson managed to beat out countless talented actresses for the role of The Young and the Restless' Mattie Ashby in 2017, and now she's going up against some of the best and brightest women of the West in the 2020 Miss California USA pageant.
The actress took to Instagram to announce her entry into the competition, where she will be competing as Miss Miracle Mile USA, which is the district of Los Angeles that she was chosen to represent.
"As many of you know (or do not know) I used to compete in pageants heavily until I moved to Los Angeles. Because I have lived here for about 3 years now, I decided to officially enter into the Miss CA USA pageant 2020," Stevenson shares. "My goal in my journey to the crown is to spread endometriosis awareness and should I win the Miss CA USA title, I will continue to work tirelessly with @endofound and the Miss CA USA system to make that happen on an even bigger level."

As stated on WedMD, endometriosis is a disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows in other places in the body outside of the womb. The gynecological condition is often physically painful and can create problems during pregnancy, including hindering a woman's ability to safely carry a child to term. There is no known cure for endometriosis. Treatments usually include surgery or medication to manage symptoms.
The Endometriosis Foundation of America (EndoFound) strives to increase disease recognition, provide advocacy, facilitate expert surgical training, and fund landmark endometriosis research. Engaged in a robust campaign to inform both the medical community and the public, the EndoFound places particular emphasis on the critical importance of early diagnosis and effective intervention while simultaneously providing education to the next generation of medical professionals and their patients.
As Stevenson stated in her Instagram post, she established herself in the pageant world long before she joined Y&R. She participated in the Miss Maine Teen USA pageant (a precursor to the Miss Teen USA pageant) and was first runner-up in both 2014 and 2015. In addition to acting and singing, her talents include swimming (she was a three-time bronze medalist at the Junior Olympics in Maine) and soccer (she played at the club level and for her high school team).
