The Young and the Restless' Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) is hosting a dinner benefiting youth-related mental health issues and programs that will also honor late Y&R cast member Kristoff St. John (ex-Neil Winters).

Linder has teamed up with Global BC and Alaska Airlines for the event, formerly titled An Evening with Kate Linder and Friends. The dinner will help raise money for the Canucks for Kids Fund, which dedicates resources to assist charities that support children's health and wellness, and facilitate and encourage education in British Columbia. This year's net proceeds will be directed specifically to British Columbia mental health issues and programs for young people.
Linder's dinner will also honor the memory of St. John, who passed away in February of this year. Prior to his own death, the celebrated actor had been grieving the death of his son, Julian, who passed away in 2014 while in the care of a mental health facility. The actor's final social media activity was retweeting a post that said: "Grieving the loss of a child is a process. It begins on the day your child passes, and ends the day the parent joins them."

Several special guests will be joining Linder at the charity dinner, including Christin LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin), Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott), Doug Davidson (Paul Williams), Sharon Case (Sharon Newman), and Y&R newcomer Mark Grossman (Adam Newman), plus Y&R Emmy award-winning makeup/hair department head Patti Denney and hair stylist Regina Rodriguez. The event will include a wine and cheese reception, a three-course dinner featuring B.C. cuisine, a prize raffle, the popular Q&A segment, a live auction, a gift bag, and the annual presentation of the Ron Linder Award.
