Eileen Davidson back to Y&R; will Ashley go head-to-head with Chelsea?!

Eileen Davidson is once again returning as The Young and the Restless' Ashley Abbott, but the soap's head writer, Josh Griffith, teases that it's not her but somebody else who threatens to topple Jabot.

The Young and the Restless has lots of drama in store for viewers this summer, and some of the excitement to come includes several return appearances by Eileen Davidson, who came back to the fold this week.

Y&R's head writer, Josh Griffith, revealed to TV Insider that the Emmy-winning actress will be reprising her role as Jack's sister on several occasions this summer -- but interestingly enough, the storyline will not be going down as many viewers anticipated. As it turns out, Ashley will be tabling her battle with Jack (Peter Bergman) in response to something much more pressing: "There is a threat to Jabot from outside," Griffith reveals.

Many fans are already speculating that the threat may come from former con artist Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who is returning to Genoa City after having skipped town last year. If that's the case, then the Abbott family may want to prepare for an epic war: according to Griffith, Chelsea won't be alone when she returns to the canvas later this summer!
