The Young and the Restless' Kate Linder devotes countless hours to advocacy and fundraising. Now, the Y&R star has been named Grand Marshal of Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade.
The Young and the Restless' Kate Linder (Esther Valentine) has been named Grand Marshal of the 36th Annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Parade.

"I am so proud and honored to be named this year's Grand Marshal of the Annual Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade," Linder said. "This is a wonderful community, and I will always fight for LGBT+ rights!"
The theme of this year's Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Parade is "A Million Moments of Pride, Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall."

Linder has been involved and has supported the LGBT+ community throughout her entire career. She was a founding board member of TV Cares, the TV Academy's now-defunct AIDS awareness and fundraising arm. She helped produce an annual award show honoring positive media portrayals for people dealing with AIDS/HIV and more. She has always participated in LGBT+ charity events. She has participated as a judge in drag contests and competitions but focuses on the serious, especially AIDS/HIV awareness and fundraising, as well as LGBT issues like harassment and equality.
The parade kicks off Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 10:30 am at Ocean Blvd and Lindero Avenue in Long Beach and travels West on Ocean Blvd and ends at the curve on Alamitos Avenue.
Over the past several years, the Long Beach Lesbian and Gay Pride Celebration has become one of the premiere Pride events nationwide, now attracting over 42,000 participants. For more information log onto www.longbeachpride.com. You can purchase tickets here.
