The Young and the Restless has cast Mark Taylor, known for primetime series like The Umbrella Academy, Insomnia, and Flashpoint. Who will he be playing?
A familiar face will soon be heading to Genoa City. Primetime star Mark Taylor has landed a role on The Young and the Restless, a career move he was proud to share on social media.
The actor -- who currently stars on the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy and has a slew of credits like Insomnia and Flashpoint to his name -- took to Instagram to share that he will be appearing on the CBS soap opera. He posted a photo of himself with Loren Lott (Ana Hamilton) along with the caption: "Backstage Young and the Restless with this crazy character. Very talented actress and singer Loren Sharice. What a warm welcomer. Thank you Loren!"
Taylor also wrote that he was honored to appear on Y&R and hopes his upcoming appearance will be the first of many.

"Grateful and surreal I had the chance to be on a show I grew up watching with my mom and fam," he shared. "Hopefully there will be more in the future."
Lott also shared news of Taylor's Y&R casting on Instagram. The young actress was thrilled to see him on set at the CBS soap opera, sharing that she recognized him from the Tia and Tamara Mowry film Seventeen Again.
"YALL. So like last month or so I walk into hair and makeup and see this man getting coffee and I though, 'That looks like the fine grandpa from Seventeen Again.' But I thought, 'Nah.' Then I thought, 'I'M ON A FREAKIN TV SHOW, THAT COULD TOTALLY BE HIM!' And guess what? IT WAS and I acted so lame y'all. I like stalked him on set so I could calmly get a picture at a 'natural moment.' I was so excited to meet one of my childhood all-time faves."
She continues: "He was so sweet with me and literally hung out with me until I had to shoot -- partially by force but whatever, lol. Now we are completely friends and he's the homie and such a sweetheart... I'm grateful."
Some of Taylor's additional credits include Student Bodies, Our Hero, Doc, Instant Star and Being Erica.
With Taylor having been on set at least one month ago, Y&R viewers can look forward to his onscreen appearance any day now. Stay tuned for updates as they come.
