Many happy returns: Kelly Kruger, David Lago rejoining Y&R

A trio of blast-from-the-past fan favorite actresses is heading back to The Young and the Restless for the CBS soap's upcoming forty-fifth birthday.

We're still a month away from the on-air celebration, but it looks like The Young and the Restless is going all out to celebrate its 45th anniversary. Just a day after it was revealed that three of the show's fan favorite female charactrers were headed back to Genoa City comes word that two more blasts from the past are also getting ready to land in Genoa City.Kelly Kruger (Mackenzie Browning) and David Lago (Raul Guittierez) will be returning to Y&R next month, according to Soap Opera Digest. The pair both have ties to another recently returned fan fave: J.T. Hellstrom.Lago, who won an Emmy for his work on Y&R, played the role of J.T.'s best bud from 1999 to 2004.As previous reported, Jaime Lyn Bauer (Lorie Brooks), Janice Lynde (Leslie Brooks), and Meg Bennett (Julia Newman) will also be returning to the top-rated CBS soap.As part of Y&R's 45th anniversary week celebration, which will kick off on March 26, David Scott Lago (ex-Raul) and Kelly Kruger (ex-Mac) are headed back to the No. 1 soap. Both characters have a direct connection to J.T.: Lago first played the role of J.T.'s pal from 1999-2004, then again in 2009; Kruger (who most recently played B&B's Eva) was on the scene from 2002-03, and Mac is J.T.'s ex. When he recently returned to the soap, Thad Luckinbill (J.T.) noted that he felt a touch of nostalgia for his early days on the show, "I called David, who I spent a lot of those early years acting with, and he also has just always been a great friend," the actor told Digest. "He and I haven't talked in a while, and literally, after the first week I called him and said, Normally, I would have called you and talked through this kind of stuff.' " The duo joins Jaime Lyn Bauer (ex-Lorie), Janice Lynde (ex-Leslie) and Meg Bennett (ex-Julia), whose returns were announced yesterday.
