A rep for the star confirmed the exciting baby news to People, and the outlet ran a photo of Thompson and his pregnant wife, Paloma Jones, playing with their one-year-old son, Bowie Banjo.
"The last year with our son Bowie has been the best of our lives," said Thompson in a statement. "I love being a dad, and we're really looking forward to bringing a girl into our little family."

On Twitter, the beaming dad-to-be-again added, "We're really excited to bring a little sister into this world for #BowieBanjo."
Prior to joining The Young and the Restless in early 2016, Thompson was known for his decade-long role as Dr. Patrick Drake on General Hospital.
