INTERVIEW: Y&R's Hunter King reacts to Emmy nomination

The Young and the Restless' Hunter King (Summer Newman) shares her thoughts on receiving yet another Daytime Emmy Awards nomination and how she celebrated.

The Young and the Restless' Hunter King (Summer Newman) has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award four times and has won twice, but that doesn't mean her latest nomination doesn't have her just as excited as she was after receiving her first nomination in 2013. In fact, she told Soap Central that she celebrated two times after hearing she had received her fifth nomination when the announcement was made in March.

"I was walking my dog with my mom when I found out, so we walked straight to lunch to celebrate," she gushes, adding that the fun didn't stop there. "The night ... was my older sister's birthday, so we were already going out to get Mexican food, so I had a margarita to celebrate!"

Both were well deserved, considering the young actress delivered plenty of outstanding performances this year. And with the help of one of the show's producers, Jimmy Freeman, she managed to narrow down her submission scenes to a couple fans will most definitely remember.

"I submitted scenes with Eric [Braeden, Victor Newman] from when Summer visited in prison and also when Summer and Luca [Miles Gaston Villanueva] broke up because she found out he has sabotaged her family, and seeing Luca at the police station. I liked the first scenes with Victor because it showed Summer's more emotional side over losing her mom, and the Luca scenes I liked seeing Summer have a more tough, independent side."

Fans will have to wait until the Daytime Emmy Awards on Sunday, April 30, to find out if Hunter will take home her third golden statuette, and it looks like they'll have to wait until then to find out what she'll be wearing, as well.

"I have no clue yet what I'm wearing but my mom always helps me pick out which dress to go with so we'll get on it soon," she teases, adding, "I'm so excited! I feel so incredibly grateful to be nominated this year and get to celebrate the other nominees."
