WATCH: Y&R stars perform reading of soap's very first episode

In celebration of 30 years at number one, stars from The Young and the Restless performed a special reading of the soap's very first episode.

The Young and the Restless is currently celebrating 30 years as daytime's number one drama, and the show was honored with a special reading of the soap's very first episode.

Stars that took to the stage for the reading at Los Angeles' Paley Center for the Arts included Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher) as Snapper Foster, Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) as the narrator, Lauralee Bell (Christine Blair) as Sally McGuire, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) as Stuart Brooks, Christian LeBlanc (Michael Baldwin) as Pierre, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) as Barbara Anderson, Sharon Case (Sharon Newman) as Leslie Brooks, Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) as a truck driver and policeman, Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) as Chris Brooks, and Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters) as Brad Eliot.

The first episode of the series, created by the late William J. Bell and his wife, Lee Phillip Bell, debuted on March 26, 1973.
