Casting director Judy Blye Wilson departs Y&R

After 30 years in daytime, celebrated casting director Judy Blye Wilson has decided to part ways with the genre's number one soap, The Young and the Restless.

Emmy-winning casting director Judy Blye Wilson has made the decision to walk away from her position at The Young and the Restless.

"I am not retiring," she assured fans on her Facebook page. "Just stopping to catch my breath... after thirty years of casting daytime, I feel I need to pause."

Wilson has been finding talent for soap operas for over 30 years, starting at Ryan's Hope in 1981, moving to One Life to Live in 1988, casting at All My Children for 20 years starting in 1991, and joining Y&R in 2011 after AMC was canceled. She's won Daytime Emmy awards for her work on AMC -- where her discoveries included Josh Duhamel (ex-Leo duPres) and Sarah Michelle Gellar (ex-Kendall Hart) as well as Y&R.

"I have had many wonderful experiences and have made many lifelong friends along the way," Wilson says of her career. "I look forward to what the future brings."
