The Young and the Restless' newest castmember, Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott; ex-Patrick Drake, General Hospital), opens up about the major changes currently taking place in his life.
David Bowie's Changes is definitely the theme song for The Young and the Restless' newest cast member, Jason Thompson, who not only left his ten-year gig as General Hospital's Patrick Drake to take on Genoa City's Billy Abbott, but who also just announced he's about to become a first-time dad. Fans of the actor have been chomping at the bit for more information, which he gives in a new video interview.
ET Canada dropped by the set of daytime's number one soap opera to speak with the Canadian-born star, who opens up about the complicated role of alcoholic/gambler Billy, learning from his talented Y&R costars, and the exciting news that he and his wife, Paloma Jones, are expecting their first child.
"What I'm really discovering about this guy, personally, from what I can gather, is that he's got a really big heart," Thompson says about Billy. "And to me, that's the most interesting thing about him. He doesn't make the right decisions all the time, but I feel like he tries to come from the right place."

As for taking on a whole different role on a different soap, Thompson says, "It just feels really nice to have a new voice and a new character and new people to kind of mix it up with."
