Are Justin Hartley's days at The Young and the Restless numbered? It's too soon to know for sure, but the actor just landed a role in an NBC pilot that has serious potential to be picked up as a regular series.
Hot on the heels of the news that some powers that be at CBS have been eyeing The Young and the Restless' Justin Hartley (Adam Newman) for the upcoming remake of classic primetime drama MacGyver comes word that the popular actor has just landed a role on a new NBC pilot.
The as-yet-untitled dramedy, which also stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling Brown, and Ron Cephas Jones, will center around several characters who share the same birthday, writes The Hollywood Reporter. Hartley's character is said to be a handsome television actor growing bored of his bachelor lifestyle.
At this time, there's no word yet on how Hartley's new gig will affect his status at Y&R. It all depends on whether or not the project gets picked up as a new series. If it does, it won't be the actor's first foray into primetime; he played the character of Oliver Queen on Smallville. He also made recurring appearances on Mistresses.
Would you be happy for Hartley if he found primetime success, or would you be more upset because it could mean he'd leave Y&R?
