General Hospital writer and Port Charles expert Kate Hall will soon be putting her spin on The Young and the Restless' Genoa City.
General Hospital may be lagging in ratings compared to The Young and the Restless, but it looks like Y&R thought GH had the "write stuff," anyway. The CBS soap has snagged Port Charles scriptwriter Kate Hall from ABC's lone soap.
"My love for #GH has no bounds," Hall shared on Twitter. "So lucky to have spent the last four years in Port Charles. Excited for new adventures in Genoa City! #YR"
Hall is no stranger to soap operas. Not only has she written for SOAPnet's former GH spin-off, General Hospital: Night Shift, and All My Children (at the same time current Y&R head writer Charles Pratt worked at the soap), but her parents are former soap industry workers, as well. Her father, Peter Simon, played Guiding Light's Dr. Ed Bauer, and her mother, Courtney Simon, starred on AMC, Another World, and GL, and also wrote for AMC, AW, GL, GH, As the World Turns, Santa Barbara, and Loving.

Hall was one of GH's most beloved scriptwriters. Her exit comes hot on the heels of head writer Ron Carlivati's departure from the ABC soap.
