WATCH: Chris Pine and Patricia Arquette take over as Y&R's Austin and Phyllis

Hollywood heartthrob Chris Pine and Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette spoof Y&R on CBS' The Late Late Show with James Corden. While some are laughing, others are saying the supposed-to-be-funny segment was insulting.

Mega stars Chris Pine and Patricia Arquette have a slew of Hollywood movies under their belts, including Star Trek, Unstoppable, True Romance, Lost Highway, and Ed Wood. But has their big-time acting experience prepared them for the world of soap operas? James Corden, the new host of The Late Late Show, put them to the challenge to find out.

The English comedian, who just took over the CBS nighttime show on Monday, March 23, explained that both his show and The Young and the Restless not only film in the same building, but randomly share the same printer, as well. He then announced that his writer's assistant had snatched a real Y&R scene that had been left in the printer and that he, Chris Pine, and Patricia Arquette would be acting it out, playing the characters of Jack, Austin, and Phyllis, respectively.

The skit didn't sit well with everyone. TV Guide's Michael Logan remarked, "I'm the last one to be reverent about soaps but I find this #YR spoof to be kind of insulting. And not at all funny. "

So how did the trio do as some of Genoa City's most popular characters? Check out the video below to find out.
