Maria Arena Bell has been awarded for her humanitarian work. Bell, a former executive producer and head writer, was a part of The Young and the Restless from 1998 through earlier this year.

Former Y&R executive producer Maria Arena Bell was honored with the WIN (Women's Image Network) Awards' Humanitarian Award for her dedicated and long-standing contribution to the arts and arts education.

"I am so honored that WIN, an organization that promotes positive images of women and girls in the media and recognizes female writers, producers and directors chose to honor me with their Humanitarian Award," Bell said. "WIN wanted to recognize my work in the arts and arts education through organizations like PS Arts, MOCA and Americans for the Arts as well as my recent appointment by Mayor Villaraigosa as a cultural affairs commissioner for the city of Los Angeles. I thank Phyllis Stuart for her leadership at WIN."

The event was held Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Paramount Studios and was attended by Y&R's co-creator Lee Phillip Bell, and past and present Y&R stars Lauralee Bell, Jeanne Cooper, Eric Braeden, Genie Francis, Patty Weaver, and many others.

The WIN Awards were co-hosted by Melissa Petermen and Bruce Vilanch. Actress Lisa Kudrow was also awarded the Humanitarian Award.
