Fear in the sky for Y&R star

It was supposed to be a routine flight, an attempt to return to normalcy. But it was anything but normal.

Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) was aboard an Air Canada flight that was forced to make an emergency landing late last week. Braeden alerted the flight crew that a passenger was allegedly smoking in the plane's restroom. According to news reports, the problem passenger was an Iranian national who is also reported to have uttered anti-American statements. The plane was escorted by fighter jets back to Los Angeles International Airport where the man was arrested.

The incident is just another way that the soap opera world has been influenced by the terrorist attacks on September 11th.
