Here's what happened on the March 28, 2025 episode of Beyond the Gates

On Beyond the Gates, Smitty and Martin were horrified to see a gash on Tyrell's face and a bruise under his eye and asked how he'd gotten them. Tyrell reported that he'd fallen off his bike, but the Richardson-Smiths became suspicious when Tyrell and Samantha offered different reasons for why Tyrell had his accident. Upstairs, Smitty treated Tyrell's laceration and tried to get him to open up about how he had really sustained it, but failed to get at the truth. Downstairs, Martin questioned the siblings' conflicting stories, with Samantha replying, “Pop, I always tell you what you need to know.”
Later, comparing notes, Martin and Smitty both concurred that there was more going on than their children were telling them. Martin was concerned by the fear he'd seen in Tyrell's eyes but told Smitty that they would handle things – together. Meanwhile, Samantha supported Tyrell, advising him that their parents weren't buying their story and that Tyrell was going to have to tell them the truth about him being sucker punched by a jock at school.
Discussing their kids' obvious subterfuge, Martin became pensive when Smitty observed that the problem wasn't lying – it was what lies covered up. Martin suspected that Tyrell was being bullied; Smitty found that logical, considering the boy had two gay dads, one of whom was a congressman. Perhaps, Smitty thought, they had erred by putting the kids in public school. Martin returned to insisting that Smitty should stay home full-time but caught himself and apologized. Smitty proposed that, with him going back to work and Martin's potential presidential run, they make a pact to be home for the kids during study time and dinner time. Martin agreed and promised to make the effort.
Tyrell explained to Samantha that someone had snagged his phone while he was changing in the locker room and snapped a picture of him, which they sent to a hot girl at school. The girl's boyfriend, thinking Tyrell was making a move, had confronted Tyrell and popped him in the face. Tyrell predicted that if their parents' found out about it, Martin would likely use his position to make a big deal of the issue with the principal and the jock's parents. Samantha said Tyrell didn't have to handle the sitch alone and hugged him.
Hayley came by Bill's office and witnessed him hugging on another woman. Dashing to the lobby and hiding, Hayley watched Bill escort the mystery lady to the elevator; Bill said no one needed to know they had been together, while the woman smirked that lying to her husband was her favorite pastime. After she left, Bill was shocked to see Hayley in the office when he'd thought she was home. Hayley had stopped in because Bill hadn't answered her texts; annoyed, she refused to kiss him because she thought it would look bad with his firm up on sexual harassment charges.
Bill was disappointed that Naomi hadn't dropped the suit, yet he was stimulated by the way his daughter was handling herself. Hayley again dodged Bill's kiss; when Bill emphasized that they were in his private office, Hayley recalled how often they had gotten romantic after hours and noted that the woman she had seen seemed amorous as well. Bill sensed that Hayley was jealous and assured her that he was playing the woman – she was facing a custody battle with her estranged husband and had used Bill's strife with his own children to garner sympathy.
Hayley and Bill discussed Naomi and Chelsea keeping Bill at arm's length; Hayley encouraged Bill to have faith, as she was sure his daughters would come around. Hayley revisited the subject of the woman in Bill's office, so Bill elaborated that he had tried to sweet-talk information out of her so he could represent her husband and crush her in court. Hayley opined it would serve the woman right for touching her man. Bill decided that Hayley was even more sexy when she was jealous. Hayley was embarrassed that she had been suspicious of Bill, who promised that he was very much in love with her.
Eva tried to call Leslie, but got her voice mail. As she started for Nicole's office, Nicole entered and asked what Eva was doing there so late. Eva said she was there to log Nicole out of her hospital account; Nicole popped into her office to prep an insurance form for the following day. Nicole invited Eva to join her, Ted, and Kat at Uptown, but Eva declined owing to Kat's dislike of her. Nicole saw Eva's point, then asked if Eva had heard anything more about “Sherry”, the ejected server from Nicole's gala. Eva relayed that she hadn't pursued the matter further because Ted had instructed her not to.
Outside Uptown, Ted didn't believe that Leslie was only having “a little chit-chat” with Kat, accusing her of always working a scheme. When Leslie said they could ask Kat about their conversation, Ted called Leslie by her first name, “Dana”; Leslie warned that Kat only knew her as “Anna”. Leslie knew that Ted was worried she'd spilled the tea about “the baby we made”, which Ted called old drama. Leslie lied that she had gotten the abortion Ted wanted, but added that the experience was too painful to simply let slide. When Leslie bit at the offer of more money to stay away, Ted wondered why she had infiltrated Nicole's life if she just wanted a payoff. Leslie would only say that, in their time together, Ted had never asked her what she wanted.
Ted balked when Leslie suggested giving her $50,000, but agreed to only a cash payment to avoid leaving a paper trail that Leslie could use against him. Ted warned that he still used the same lawyer who had forced Leslie to leave the first time and declared their business done.
Inside, Kat monitored the feed from the security camera she had planted in Nicole's office, hoping to catch Eva in some kind of wrongdoing; she flashed back to installing the device. Later, going over the menus, Ted noticed that Kat was preoccupied with her phone; Kat was covered when she slipped and was waiting for a text from Eva. Ted advocated for Kat to let up on Eva since he still hadn't heard a good reason for Kat to mistrust the assistant. “You will,” Kat assured. Ted downplayed Kat's admiration of him by reminding her that he was far from flawless.
Doug played online poker while Vanessa was in the ladies' room; when she came back to their table, Doug lied that he was checking his work schedule and informed Vanessa that she'd be on her own the following week. Nicole visited their table, glad the McBrides were on a rare night out, though Nicole was surprised that, since Doug and Nicole were both always at the hospital, they didn't see each other there very often. After Nicole left, Doug told the curious Vanessa that it was just a coincidence that he rarely ran into Nicole. Then, Joey arrived; Vanessa was pleased to see him, but Doug was not.
Doug listened as Vanessa and Joey discussed the home Joey was looking to buy for his mother. When Vanessa suggested that Joey join them, Doug gently discouraged it. Joey gave his regrets but hinted that “someone” would be lucky that night. Joey said his goodbyes, leaving Vanessa and Doug to squabble over Joey's supposed reputation. Doug worked to warn Vanessa off of Joey, then bailed on their time together, saying he needed to take care of something at the hospital. Vanessa was unhappy and looked at the casino's social media page thoughtfully.
Sitting down with Kat, Nicole and Ted congratulated their daughter on going into business with Chelsea but could barely keep Kat's attention since she kept staring at her phone. Kat continued trying to play her distraction off, suddenly becoming animated when her phone died just after seeing Eva going into Nicole's patient files on the security camera feed. Kat insisted that they go home that moment; Ted and Nicole didn't understand her urgency. They stayed behind to take care of the bill while Kat rushed out.
The Richardsons were confused by Kat's behavior; Ted thought maybe their daughter had something secret planned for their anniversary. Nicole disagreed, noting that their special day was still a ways off. Nicole recalled that years back, when she had pushed for another baby – Kat – she had gotten the feeling that Ted was having second thoughts. Ted vowed that Nicole was the only woman for him and implored her never to leave him; Nicole smiled that he had never given her a reason to consider doing so.
At the casino, Joey handed Randy a rigged deck of cards and commanded him to make sure the dealer used them once Doug sat down for a game. When Doug entered, Randy attempted to deter Doug from gambling that night but was caught by Joey; Randy reminded Joey that Doug was his childhood friend, but Joey didn't want to hear it, issuing Randy a final warning.
Eva read the records that Nicole had kept on “Sherry” – until she noticed the camera. Eva heard the front door opening and hurriedly put the folder back, hiding after grabbing her belongings. Kat called out and made a beeline for her mom's office; before sneaking out, Eva thought to look at Kat's phone, saw the security app, and deleted the footage Kat had gotten of her.
Eva came home to Leslie crowing about Ted giving her more money; Leslie scoffed that Ted thought it would make up for the child support he never paid and make her go away again. Leslie proclaimed that the plan to expose Ted at the Richardsons' anniversary party was still on.
Kat raced to her parents when they got in the door and announced that Eva had raided Nicole's file cabinet while they were out. The Richardsons didn't believe it; when Kat grabbed her phone to show them her evidence, she found that it was gone.
At the Thomas', Eva poured herself a drink and clucked, “Hairdresser: 1; bougie bitch from behind the gates: 0.” Eva laughed that Kat thought she had had Eva's number – but Kat wasn't ready for the smoke.
