What happened on Beyond the Gates

As we head into the weekend and eagerly await our next helping of BTG after the weekend, here’s a celebration of all the wonderful moments we got this week.

Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) voluntarily surrendered the CCTV footage from his casino showing Doug’s (ex-Jason Graham) last moments. Did you notice that although he made Marcel (Darryl W. Handy) vanish from the footage like a wraith, Marcel's scotch glass remained right there in the cup holder with his chair parked at an angle? Good luck explaining that, but only if someone sees it!

Martin and Smitty finally look in a really good place, but the week started really rough for them. Can we expect our favorite couple to be back to old times soon? The magic 8-ball says, “all signs point to yes.”

Lauren Buglioli continued her run at making a strong case for a Daytime Emmy for her role as Vanessa McBride. After the loss of her husband, her scenes have been honest, hard-hitting, and have reached out to touch all of us at home.

Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman) have been the cutest couple, and watching them protect and defend what they have against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, has been a pleasure. Andre, standing toe to toe with Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durett), not flinching or holding back, was a sight! It’s hard not to root for this pair to go all the way and become a lasting thing like Anita (Tamara Tunie) and Vernon (Clifton Davis).

Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) confronted Tomas (Alex Alegria) about how he mistreated her cousin, Kat (Colby Muhammed). However, Chelsea ended up spilling the tea and letting Tomas know that Kat still loves him, minus 50 points, Chelsea, but taking Kat to task and telling her that being with Tomas just to prevent Eva (Ambyr Michelle) from “winning” is not the way to go earns her 75 points and the thumbs up award from me.
