Joe Rogan's remarks on COVID-19 during his Burn the Boats Netflix special
Joe Rogan is no stranger to the stand-up comedy sphere and became even more successful and popular after launching The Joe Rogan Experience. His Netflix special Burn the Boats streamed a few hours ago, and it wouldn't be fair if we didn't tell you the lighthearted remarks he made about himself and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The comedian and actor has moved to Texas and opened his comedy club. Rogan filmed his first stand-up comedy special for Netflix in San Antonio, in which he talked about loving crazy people, believing in aliens, conspiracy theories, and hilariously reflected on the criticism received from Prince Harry over spreading misinformation about COVID-19.
In a humorous reaction, Joe Rogan said:
"The funniest way for me to die is if I die from COVID... My first thought was: F---. Did I? I might’ve!... But here’s my take on that, sincerely: If you’re getting your vaccine advice from me, is that really my fault?... That’s not my job, kids. I’m a professional s--t-talker, OK?"
The comedian expands his reaction and says many things he jokes about make sense, but many don't. It's up to the audience how they perceive them and that's what makes his jokes fun.
Joe Rogan also sheds light on modern culture, as he believes it's getting "weird" with time. The comedian is also famous for his dark humor, and incorporates it whenever he's performing on stage.
What did Prince Harry say about Joe Rogan's comments on COVID-19 vaccines?
Following Joe Rogan's lighthearted remarks on COVID-19 in his Netflix special, many might wonder about the criticism he received earlier.
This goes back to 2021 when Prince Harry criticized Joe Rogan over his humorous take on COVID-19 as he suggested young people should stay away from the vaccines.
Following Rogan's comments, Prince Harry was asked in an interview on the podcast Armchair Expert, to share his thoughts on Joe Rogan's remarks. The Duke of Sussex said:
"I think the issue is, in today’s world, with misinformation [being] just endemic... News doesn’t exist in just news anymore. It’s splattered all over the place. So people listen to Joe Rogan and say, ‘Oh, if he says that... There’s a [sense] of, ‘Don’t listen to me’ – well, don’t say that. Just stay out of it. ... If you have a platform, with a platform comes responsibility."
The Prince's criticism went viral all over the internet and following that Rogan even responded to that in his The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, stating that he's not an "anti-vax person", and didn't mean to discourage young people.
The comedian explained that he encourages people to take the COVID-19 vaccine, but if an individual is young and healthy, they might not require it.
Joe Rogan has now transformed into a fan-favorite and outspoken comedian, who never fails to astonish fans and viewers with his humorous thoughts.
Joe Rogan's Burn the Boats is streaming on Netflix.
