Eurovision 2025 is about to name a winner among the Top 5 entries that they have shortlisted. All of these are fighting for the glass mic trophy and belong to different countries.

This time, all the participants are unique in their own way and have talents and weaknesses. This makes the competition less predictable than before, where teams would be so perfect from the start that they were destined to win. This happened in 2023 with Loreen from Sweden and the Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine in 2022.

Speaking to the BBC, the top 5 entries, which are the most famous and have the best chance of winning, opened up about their backgrounds. The teams include KAJ from Sweden, JJ from Austria, Louane from France, Claude from the Netherlands, and Erika Vikaman from Finland.

Eurovision 2025 - KAJ from Sweden

The team comes from Vörå and speaks Swedish. The group has been together since they were in high school. They have taken part in other fests together, such as Melodifestivalen in Sweden, and ended up winning. This was their ticket to Eurovision.

They sang Bara Bada Bastu this year, which is dedicated to the saunas in Finland and their excessive amount. He says that it's a cultural thing for people to like the sauna in the country, and thus, it felt "natural" to them to sing about it. Jakob Norrgård said,

"It's a chicken and an egg situation. I don't know which came first, the happiness or the sauna, but the sauna definitely brings your pulse down."

Eurovision 2025 - JJ from Austria

JJ does English songs and has been singing about heartbreak and love. Johannes Pietch, the singer, said that the lyrics are all about his "personal experience with unreciprocated love." His song is called Wasted Love, which he performed with a boat that was put up on a heavy set and looked well on stage.

Eurovision 2025 - Louane from France

Louane, hailing from France, has decided to perform her ballad named Maman for Eurovision. The stage is dramatic with real sand and her wearing a Rabbane dress.

"It's a song that says that, even through sadness and deep pain, you can finally feel fine," she says.

Eurovision 2025 - Claude from the Netherlands

Claude, who is just 21 years old, got a chance to represent his country on the international front at Eurovision this year with his track C'est la vie. His family had immigrated from Congo to the Netherlands when he was just a kid.

They used to live in a refugee asylum where his mother would do her best to provide for the kids. Claude has written his song in her honor. He expressed,

"She used to tell me, 'C'est la vie. Life is beautiful, even if it is hard sometimes.' So when I heard about Eurovision, I was like, 'Wait, if I go there, I want to bring that message to the world'. I have a lot of respect for her. She fought through life, and we're still here."

Eurovision 2025 - Erika Vikman from Finland

Hailing from the happiest country in the world, Erika says that her song is about "orgasm." Her inspiration comes from artists such as Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Cher. During her performance, she was seen sitting on a giant gold microphone that was as dramatic as it could be.

Eurovision 2025 is available to stream via Peacock.
