A communist and a construction worker, Pasquale develops a crush on Lila when she and Lenu are in middle school.

Pasquale’s character is shown as a radical and an agitator who knows how things work corruptly and the historical reasons that have made things so. He is also the only one who is ready to call out those in power and terrorize people, like the Solaras.

Pasquale also becomes instrumental in Lila’s education when her parents force her to drop out. While she misses out on learning about religion, books, and languages in a classroom setting, she learns about the fascinating history of Italy from the political and passionate Pasquale.

Pasquale falls in love with Lila intensely and wants to marry her. However, Lila tells him that though she is thankful to him for teaching her so much about Italy's history and politics, she only sees him as her brother.

Lila’s refusal deeply hurts Pasquale, but after a few months of being extremely sad about the rejection, Pasquale takes it upon himself to protect Lila against any threat or harm that comes her way.

After a series of events, Pasquale ends up in jail after having spent years hiding in accusations of political murder. At the end of the series, he resurfaces in jail.

Despite his girlfriend Naida escaping punishment by providing information on others, Pasquale stays true to his ideologies and refuses to cooperate with the State.

Making good use of his long sentence in jail, Pasquale dives into studying and earning his high school degree. He also gets a degree in astronomical geography.
