In Season 2, Episode 4, we get introduced to two new Ents, Snaggleroot and Winterblossom—the strange beings who took Theo in Episode 3. These old tree people played a big part in the War of the Ring, but we don't know much about them. In Tolkien's world, six Ents exist, and each one has a tale.

Ents are the underlying factor in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2's storyline. Despite their existence, the characters of the show too seem to believe in them as mere legends.
Ents have not been influenced by force or persuasion; they have adhered strictly to their purpose, language, and customs living in deep retreat. These creatures, just like tree-keepers keep their trees, work as caretakers of the pacified wood. They are bigger than trees but, each one looks differently as they are taking care of different species.
Many of the Ents were superhuman strong when the earth was mostly covered in forests. However, relentless deforestation has thrashed them badly. Regardless, they are uncompromising in their defense of the remaining trees.
What is the history of Ents in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2?
Yavanna, the Valar of nature, on seeing that her trees and plants would not be able to safeguard themselves against the Children of Ilúvatar, became perturbed. She pleaded for help to Manwë, the leader of the Valar. As a result, Ents were created as "the tree guardians".
Looking into the Ent's history in the show, viewers understand that like the kids of the woods, the Elves share a history with Ents. It is the Elves who have taught the Entshow to talk and move around. It depicts, that both Ents and Elves are connected because they mutually admire nature.
Ents resemble the trees they protect. They are gigantic and strong, with several trees rising free of 12 feet tall. These magical creatures that resemble trees are highly intelligent with expressive eyes, and are careful and gentle.
Ents usually are the "peaceful" group but with threats, they can quickly escalate into a fierce battle on behalf of their much-beloved forest.

Snaggleroot and Winterbloom claimed they had headed to Pelargir to save the region's trees. Considering the Southlands transformed into Mordor by the end of Season 1 it is evident that trees were the first ones to get destroyed, often to provide wood and timber for weapons. With a massive clash between Orcs, Elves, and Numenóreans, it's likely many trees perished over time.
The Ents are less sad and more provoked in this chapter due to the recent incursion of Adar's orc army. Snaggleroot, the ents' leader, needs to be reassured by Arondiry to persuade them to free Theo.
Theo is not as bitter about Arondir after the elf rescues him. We can see Isildur teaching the Southlanders in ways of Numenorean technology.
But the most important factor highlighted in Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 is the ents' anger. Although they are portrayed positively in the scene, viewers would keep the fact in the back of their minds that these creatures will not hesitate to be cruel if their nature is harmed.
