Apple TV’s Invasion is back with a new Season and more threats. Season 3 of Invasion premiered on August 22, 2025. The series tells the story of individuals worldwide who discover an alien invasion and how they cope with it.

The storyline of the sci-fi series follows several characters from different walks of life and countries, such as a teenager in London, an immigrant couple in New York, and an employee working at Japan’s space program, among many others. Therefore, the show was filmed in several locations across the globe, such as England, Japan, Africa, the US, and in Season 3, also Canada.

Invasion filming locations

The filming of the sci-fi series began in October 2019 and had to stop in 2020 due to COVID. In 2021, it completed filming for season 1.

Here are the filming locations of Invasion:

1) New York, USA

New York is a key location in the series, as two of the main characters, Ahmed and Aneesha, Syrian immigrants, reside in Long Island, New York. Therefore, the location is used to depict how the invasion has affected them and their surroundings.

2) Morocco

Season 1 was also filmed in Morocco, a North African country. One of the characters, Trevante Cole, a US soldier, was stationed in Afghanistan during the invasion.

While it was not feasible to film on location in Afghanistan, Morocco became their choice. The barren and desert lands of the African country became the backdrop for a country that is dealing with war.

3) England

Besides the US, England was another key filming location for Invasion, featured in both Seasons 1 and 2. Casper, a teenager from London, was one of the main characters involved in dealing with the aliens.

Locations around Manchester were used in Season 1 of the Apple TV series. As per Cinemaholic, places such as the Royal Naval College and Blackheath were also used for filming the show.

In Season 2, Ready Steady Cut reported that the series was filmed at the popular White Cliffs of Dover. The series also shot at Folkestone’s Eurotunnel terminal and Upper Road in Dover. Additionally, Season 2 was filmed at the iconic OMAX Film Studios in London, which is also where Peaky Blinders was shot.

4) Japan

To depict Mitsuki’s story, who worked in the field of Communications at JASA, the series used the East Asian country of Japan. Scenes with Mitsuki in Season 1 of Invasion were mainly shot in Tokyo, Japan.

5) South Africa

Apart from Morocco, Apple TV series used another country from the African continent: South Africa. Including South Africa as its filming location in Season 2, the series achieved another feat by making the show relevant to the narrative, which features different individuals from various locations.

Furthermore, due to lower production costs, it is also one of the ideal places to film a show that needs to cover multiple countries.
