The official premiere of FBI Season 8 on CBS is scheduled for Monday, October 13, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET/8:00 PM CT. At this confirmed time and date, fans will get their first look at the next episode of the drama series from the New York branch of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The first episode is called Takeover, and it will certainly offer a very tense beginning to the season as the team enters immediate chaos after the unresolved cliffhangers of the previous season (Season 7).

There is also a change in the time slot of the new season: instead of being on Tuesdays, the show will be on Monday nights at 9 p.m., which is a strategic choice of the network since FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted were canceled on the network.

Without these spin-offs, FBI Season 8 will be the centerpiece of the franchise, on the primetime drama lineup of CBS in 2025-26. The viewers can look forward to a combination of procedural case-of-the-week narratives as well as the subplot of inner betrayal and personal struggle.

Renewal, schedule, and premiere specifics

In April 2024, CBS formally approved FBI: Seasons 8 and 9, so the show will remain a part of the network. The 2025 fall schedule of the CBS network has FBI Season 8 beginning on October 13, 2025, at 9/8c, with an episode format weekly.

The season is projected to comprise 22 episodes, as in the case of past seasons. The episodes will be aired on Monday nights, and most of them will be made available on demand shortly after airing.

FBI Season 8: How to watch in the U.S

Live on CBS: Monday 9/8c, beginning October 13, 2025.

Next-day streaming: Episodes will be streamed via Paramount+, the official CBS streaming platform.

Cable-free live streaming: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, and FuboTV all have CBS and can air the premiere.

Catch-up: Paramount+ (as well as buying sites such as Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV) has all past seasons (1–7) available.

International availability

Non-U.S. availability depends on the region:

UK: Paramount+ and Sky will probably stream episodes soon after they are aired in the U.S.

Canada: Global television runs in sync with the U.S., and on streaming services, StackTV and Paramount+.

Australia: The season is going to be available on Paramount+ Australia; it is possible that the season will be delayed locally as well.

In other areas (India, Southeast Asia), the episodes can be broadcast later on local streaming platforms because of licensing agreements.

Ascertained international streaming windows are also region-specific; users are advised to keep an eye on local sites when the premiere is very close.

Production details

Production went back in mid-2025 in New York. Today, the series is still on, under Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, and with executive producers Dick Wolf and Rick Eid.

The production team has focused on a procedural drama with high stakes and character-based narratives in the FBI Season 8.

FBI Season 8 episode 1 summary: Takeover

The season begins three days after the Season 7 finale, and it picks up the suspense. In the first episode, the team is involved in the case of a missing federal judge, and this causes friction in the Bureau. In the meantime, unresolved threats of an extremist group Forefront that found its way into the agency in the last season are still looming over the team operations.

Moreover, the FBI Season 8 starts to answer the question that was left unanswered at the end of the previous season of the series: Isobel Castille and her fate after her collapse. The hints given by the Showrunner suggest that her case will be revealed at a slow pace, leaving the initial episodes in suspense.

Cast updates for FBI Season 8

FBI Season 8 is mostly a continuation of the main ensemble:

Missy Peregrym portrays Special Agent Maggie Bell.

Zeeko Zaki as Special Agent Omar “OA” Zidan.

Jubal Valentine, the Assistant Special Agent in Charge, as played by Jeremy Sisto.

John Boyd as Special Agent Stuart Scola.

Alana de la Garza as Special Agent in Charge, Isobel Castille

New additions and exits

New face to the show this season is Juliana Aidén Martinez, who is said to be a new agent who takes over the team dynamics.

Lisette Olivera (Syd Ortiz) has lost the show.

Emily Alabi, who was revealed in the seventh season, will probably have a minor role.

How these changes of cast impact team interactions, leadership, and handling cases will be discussed in the first episodes, which makes FBI Season 8 one of the most important seasons in terms of character development.

Plots and expectations

The FBI's 8th season will maintain the balance between procedural investigations and long-term character development. Key storylines include:

Season 7 cliffhangers: The conspiracy of the Forefront and the medical crisis of Isobel Castille are still the focus.

Team dynamics: The professional and personal relations between Maggie, OA, and Scola are expected to change.

The threats, internal and external: Although the format of the show will remain the same as a case-of-the-week, it is anticipated that the show will concentrate on the external and internal threats to the FBI.

Franchise continuity: Due to the cancellation of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, there are no crossovers, although a spinoff called CIA will be introduced in the middle of the season, which could do it in relation to FBI Season 8.
