The first part of the second season started with Horace’s deteriorating health condition, for which he decides to marry Kimmie and give his company to her instead of his own family.

For him, his sons were not capable of handling such a massive business, and he did not want to give his company to inexperienced hands who could ruin the company’s future. Hence, he marries Kimmie and gives her tidbits about running the company smoothly. Kimmie is not an inexperienced person.

Her competence can be proved right from the moment she enters the boardroom and completely dominates the whole scenario. At the end of episode eight of Beauty in Black Season 2, we see that Horace goes to Italy to try the experimental treatment for his cancer. He now has a desire to survive and oversee how Kimmie manages his company.

As the first part of the second season ends with an indication that Horace might die, it would be intriguing to see how the series handles this aspect moving forward. If the creators decide to keep Horace alive, then the drama regarding his family will increase manifold.

Horace’s ex-wife and sons are already creating quite some issues with Kimmie now being the COO. Ricco Ross truly does a commendable job in bringing out Horace’s intense nature.
