ABC’s newest crime drama High Potential, stars It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, who is a cleaning lady and a single mother with an excellent IQ. The show has already aired four episodes.

However, while Morgan might be a genius at solving crimes, the puzzles of her own life remain unsolved.

Viewers who are acquainted with the show will know that while agreeing to take a job as a consultant to the Los Angeles Police Department, Morgan makes a deal with them.

She tells them she can only work for them if they promise to help her find Roman Sinquerra, father to her daughter, Ava (Amirah J) and the long-lost love of her life.

Todd Harthan, showrunner for High Potential has already teased an ongoing mystery as Morgan keeps searching for Roman. While Major Crimes Division Captain Selena (Judy Reyes) has assured her that they would definitely help her in the search, it remains to be seen how helpful they are going to be.

Harthan mentioned to TVLine,

“Morgan is about to find out some things she didn’t know about the person she was sharing her life with, the person she had a child with. Morgan is somebody who notices everything, all the details, but we all have blind spots, right? As the season goes on, we’ll start to unpack some things about who this man was and what he might have been doing that she wasn’t aware of.”

Let us now explore what possible fates Roman might have met in High Potential that the show is yet to reveal.

The following article contains spoilers.

Roman left town

Roman Sinquerra had vanished 15 years back and the police had told Morgan that he left the town. However, Morgan firmly believes that he didn’t and she informs the same to Police Lieutenant Selena as well.

The theory is extremely easy to accept, but seems less interesting. Moreover, with new discoveries, including Roman’s car being impounded after three days of his alleged disappearance make this theory a little unlikely to be true.

Moreover, since diapers were found on the backseat of Roman’s car, it proves that Morgan was right when she said Roman had planned to come back home after running the errands.

Roman was Abducted

Another probable theory that comes up is that Roman got abducted. There might be something or someone that is stopping him from coming back.

From new evidence, it is clear that Roman had planned to come back home with diapers for his daughter, so him being kidnapped on the way is very likely.

However, in cases of kidnapping, since there are generally demands of ransom involved, Morgan not getting a call from anyone makes this theory a little weak.

However, different kidnappers have different motives and if Roman was indeed kidnapped, it might not be possible to guess what was the reason behind that kidnapping. Therefore, someone might have held him hostage somewhere, making it impossible for him to come back or contact his family.

Roman is Dead

Another very probable theory is Roman being dead. This one makes a lot of sense as well because 15 years is a long time for a person to come back.

Since Morgan never heard back from him after he disappeared, it can be very likely that he is dead. If he was alive, he might have made some kind of contact with Morgan, at least for the sake of their daughter.

However, since nothing was ever heard from him, it won't be surprising if it is revealed that he is dead.

No matter what has happened to Roman, the fact that Morgan is now working with the LAPD puts her directly in a department which could actually help her find him or at least uncover the truth about his disappearance.

Episodes 1-4 of High Potential season 1 can be streamed on Hulu. New episodes drop every Tuesday.
