Andre Anderson is one of the more significant characters on Gen V, however disappointedly he will not be returning for Season 2. Andre was portrayed by Chance Perdomo, who tragically died in a motorcycle accident in New York in March 2024. The showrunners decided to honor the actor by not recasting the character and instead Andre died off-screen heroically while saving others.
On Gen V, Andre is a student at the Godolkin University, who has magnetic powers. He is the son of the famed Polarity, who also possessed the same powers. In Season 1 of The Boys spin-off series, Andre learns about the many shady secrets about the university and its hidden agenda. At the end of the season, Andre is taken to the Elmira Rehabilitation Center along with other Supes.
The character would have had a more vital role to play in Gen V Season 2, but the actor met with the ill-fated accident and the production for the series was halted temporarily. The showrunner decided to rewrite the part instead, as a homage to the actor.
In an interview with the TVLine, showrunner Michele Fazekas shared,
“We wanted to honor him, and in order to honor the person that Chance was, we have to treat this like what it is, which is grieving someone who is gone…”
Fazekas further added about Gen V Season 2,
“But knowing that you’re doing a television show about superheroes at college, how do you fit that very real, very serious emotion into the world of this show? The answer is that you just fit it into the world of the show, like people fit grief into their lives. Sometimes people are inappropriate, sometimes people are cracking jokes and sometimes people are angry.”
Gen V Season two premiered on September 17, 2025, on Prime Video with three episodes. The season will comprise of eight episodes, with the finale slated to air on October 22, 2025. The returning cast of the series includes Maddie Phillips, Jaz Sinclair, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Lizze Broadway, and Sean Patrick Thomas
