Game show fans must know Jeopardy! as one of the longest-running and most popular game shows. A vast number of fans closely follow the show, its questions, and its format and dream of participating in the trivia.

Over the years, the show's format has been quite similar. The participants are given information/facts from which they are supposed to determine the relevant clue. As the answer, they need to form a question in a way that also consists of an answer and also forms a question.

On October 27, 2024, one of the Reddit users and a fan of the popular game show Jeopardy! started a discussion about the show's format. The game's fans must already know that there is a particular format for the clues/ questions for the trivia.

Regarding that, Reddit user Sea-Rush445 on the Jeopardy discussion board initiated how the show "doesn't hit the same."

Posts from the jeopardy community on Reddit

The initial discussion reads,

"I'm not sure if it's just me but do you feel Jeopardy! doesn't feel the same anymore as it used to? Ever since season 37 ended, Jeopardy! hasn't felt the same. The categories are weird, the vibe isn't there, and the tournaments are boring and repetitive. Let me know your thoughts."

On the same Reddit discussion board, Jeopardy! fans shared their views on the show's format being "repetitive" and more.

Lance_dBoyle shared,

"I think it's different than Alex's days and there was that long tournament period as a result of Covid as well as the weird host tryouts, and split hosting so it's been different for awhile. I’m personally loving Ken's wit and onstage comfort so I’m happy with the current state of things."

It continued,

"PS. Lots of lamentations about Alex and the show not being the same, and while I liked it when he was on, the show is about the game, deep and broad knowledge, and the contestants. Ken had a shaky start but there is no truer offspring of the show and he is proving why Alex wanted him as a successor. Look forward, not back."

Another fan, 81Bibliophile shared,

"I wouldn't say that I'm not enjoying it anymore, but I have noticed that literature categories that I used to be able to run most of the time are now filled with books/series that I haven't read and therefor know very little about. I've just thought of it as my getting older and the writers getting younger."

One more Reddit user, Alohadave wrote,

"I was thinking about this the other day with pop music. Pretty soon, I won't be able to answer anything about current music because I don't listen to it, or follow it at all. Conversely, it's interesting to see contestants miss stuff from the 80s because it's before their time."

A fan, Comfortable-Policy70, wrote about Jeopardy! categories,

"There seem to be more weird artificial pun categories like "triple before and after almost rhyming hip hop superheroes". Bring back Potent Potables and Those Darn Etruscans."

Another fan celtica98 wrote,

"Yes, this is so true to me. It is weird. I feel like it's all about the quest for the next "super champion" - not as interesting to me as people with different, sometimes interesting or just regular backgrounds competing. I never missed a night, now sometimes I do."
