One thing that captivates the fans of The Boys is its imbalance in power and the fact that not all heroes are created equal. The show, adapted from the comic book by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Darick Robertson, brings an edgy outlook on superheroes where the ultimate villains are the superheroes themselves.

Here, we examine a list of the strongest The Boys characters and what sets them apart in the world of superheroes, where power is everything.

Top 10 strongest The Boys characters, ranked

1) Homelander

John Gillman, better known as Homelander, is undoubtedly the strongest The Boys character. Portrayed by Antony Starr, there’s no character more imposing in the entire series than him, and there are no other characters who lack the basics of morality as much as he does.

In The Boys, he possesses almost infinite powers, including strength, flight, shooting lasers from his eyes, seeing through objects, moving at a fast speed, and healing abilities, to mention a few. He has heightened senses that include smell and hearing; thus, he cannot be easily attacked or outwitted. He is intelligent and a strategist, and no other superhero has successfully overpowered him in The Boys.

2) Soldier Boy

Soldier Boy, portrayed by Jensen Ackles, is very close to matching Homelander in the strongest The Boys characters list. He can heal himself from bullets, knife stabs, and radioactive blasts that neutralize other Supes' power.

Notably, in The Boys, Homelander is Soldier Boy's son, creating another layer in the rivalry because no other characters compare to their similarity in power. But Soldier Boy’s flaws, such as PTSD and his vulnerability to high-pitched sounds, do not make him nearly as stable as Homelander is in The Boys. He is unpredictable and has raw and super strength, placing him second on our list.

3) Victoria Neuman

Victoria Neuman is one of the most lethal characters in The Boys. She was a congresswoman later revealed to be a Supe, known as the "Head-Popper." She was adopted by Stan Edgar from the Red River orphanage and is suspected to have accidentally or purposefully killed her birth parents. This dark backstory hints at her ruthless and calculating personality.

Victoria Neuman can control the blood of others and uses this ability to make their heads explode, making her incredibly deadly. She also has superhuman strength, durability, hearing, and healing abilities and can psychically sense and “read” blood. These qualities make her one of the strongest The Boys characters.

4) Billy Butcher

Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) has always been a formidable foe for Supes in The Boys. After injecting himself with Temp V and later Compound V, Butcher gets powers similar to the strongest Supes in the series. Some of his abilities are heat vision, super strength, regenerative healing, and heightened senses, and as such, he fights both Homelander and Soldier Boy directly.

Billy Butcher is diagnosed with cancer as a result of using Compound V. However, along with cancer, a certain mutation in his body also seems to explain the tentacles he shoots out of his chest later in the series.

With his body permanently changed, Butcher becomes a Supe and is determined to destroy Homelander. Being a superhero provides him with the muscle to support his aspirations; hence, claiming that he is one of the strongest The Boys characters is not hyperbole.

5) Stormfront

A former nazi and the first successful subject of Compound V, Stormfront has lived nearly a century and knows how to get what she wants in The Boys. She can control lightning and has super strength. To top it all, she is also invulnerable.

However, these superpowers are nothing compared to her mastery of propaganda. She spreads hate and twisted agendas through her social appearances and yet somehow wins over her fans. Her raw power and chilling ideology make her one of the most terrifying and strongest The Boys characters.

6) Queen Maeve

Queen Maeve is one of the most influential characters at The Seven, making significant contributions to the company. Maeve is not as powerful as Homelander in The Boys, but she is muscular. She manages to wound the leader of The Seven. Her ability to face Homelander speaks volumes about her might. She is strong, intelligent, and capable of fast healing of her health.

Nevertheless, these powers have their loopholes, especially where her girlfriend, Elena, and a superhero-killing virus are concerned. She is an emotionally complicated character with inner conflicts that Homelander exploits. Portrayed by Dominique McElligott, Queen Maeve’s recent decision to embark on her path has been a highlight.

7) A-Train

A-Train justifies his name with his superhuman speed, making him one of the world's fastest beings. He can run faster than the speed of sound, giving him an excellent advantage against his opponents. He has superhuman reflexes and is extremely agile, which he uses to outrun others. He can hit his foes with incredible and deadly blows.

However, he has his conflicts; he struggles with Compound V, which results in his heart issues. But he remains an essential member of The Seven until he takes a stand and fights against them. A-Train’s superhuman speed and abilities make him one of the strongest The Boys characters.

8) Kimiko

Kimiko is one of the savage yet strongest characters in The Boys. Her swift and lethal strikes are highly efficient in killing her foes. Her experience in the Shining Light Liberation Army taught her how to dispose of targets silently and efficiently.

Her abilities include super strength, speed, agility, and acute hearing. However, she cannot stand high-pitched sounds and the Supe-killing virus. Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) is a key member of The Boys, and even though she is quite powerful, her capacity for violence was at first underestimated.

9) Black Noir

Black Noir is a little different in the show than the character in the comic books, where he was initially a clone of Homelander. Although he is stronger than the human norm, more agile, stealthy, and with healing abilities, he is not as powerful as most of the Supes on the list.

In The Boys, Nathan Mitchell portrayed Black Noir, who is quite enigmatic and dangerous for most of the series. His past with Soldier Boy helped develop his character.

However, Homelander kills Black Noir in season 3 of The Boys. In the fourth season, a new Supe takes up Black Noir's role, which changes his abilities. Nonetheless, he is one of The Seven's most respected and terrifying members.

10) Starlight

Annie January, also known as Starlight, always dreamed of being a member of The Seven. However, as soon as she realizes the group is corrupt, she switches sides and fights them with The Boys.

She has super strength and the ability to control electricity. Her other powers include electrokinesis, photokinesis, flight, and regeneration. Starlight, portrayed by Erin Moriarty, is Hughie Campbell’s girlfriend in The Boys, making her representation quite relatable.

People want to see more of her in the field, especially if she works with Kimiko. Their powers combined would be unparalleled and make her one of the strongest characters in The Boys.

The Boys is available to stream on Prime Video.
