The finale of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty wasn’t just an ending. It was a showcase of Yoona and Lee Chae-min's unavoidable chemistry.
Since the premiere, fans have been expressing their love and support for the leading characters, and even mentioned that Lee's performance was the kind that raises the bar for K-drama acting. And as a fan myself, the actor was indeed a scene-stealer.
Following Lee Chae-min's growing popularity and the finale of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, a fan wrote on X (earlier Twitter): "This man has set the standard very high, not only as Lee Heon but also as Lee Chae Min, the leading role was ready for him, he just had to wait, and his moment came 🤏🏼😭 #BonAppetitYourMajestyEp12 #LeeChaeMin."
Notably, Lee worked really hard for this project as he was cast at the last moment, when the original actor, Park Sung-hoon, had to step down due to the Squid Game controversy. So, Lee Chae-min had little time to prepare for the role and gave his all.
In a recent interview, the actor explained that he was happy to meet the director of the K-drama and mentioned being his fan. Lee said:
"I felt I really had to work hard for the role. I went in with pressure, expectation, and excitement... I was given about a month, so I tried to do my best within that time."
From horseback riding to calligraphy, Lee Chae-min learned it all in just a month. And as a result, fans are now rooting for a Season 2 and more K-dramas featuring the stars.
Fans praise Lee Chae-min for raising the bar through his role in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty

After that heartfelt finale of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, fans are demanding a Season 2 or just one more special episode, highlighting Ji-young and Lee-heon's life in the future. Not only this, the time-travel K-drama has also given Lee Chae-min a huge fanbase, all thanks to his dedication and standout acting.
A fan praised the actor and wrote: "This acting is insane Lee Chaemin really nailed that sadness and the desperation of the role."
Another fan highlighted the replacement of the original actor in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty and wrote: "The best thing that happened to the show is lee chaemin replacing the og male lead. He prepared for this role in a month, delivered a top notch and jaw dropping performance."
Not only this, another fan also praised Lee Chae-min, claiming that he was made to play King Lee-heon in the K-drama.
The tweet reads: "Thank God he replaced the OG male lead. I seriously can’t imagine anyone else playing this role. Lee Chaemin’s acting in this scene alone deserves an award. He was truly made for it."
As mentioned earlier, Yoona and Lee's chemistry took the K-drama world by storm, and now their fans demand more.
A tweet reads: "The demand for a season 2 of bon appetit your majesty among knets is so high because of yoona and chaemin legendary chemistry. Some even call it the best chemistry they have ever seen in their life. The makers should listen fr😭🤧"
Lee's performance has become a hot topic of discussion online, especially on social media platforms, as he has been in other K-dramas as well, but Bon Appétit, Your Majesty hits different.
Another tweet reads: "Big shoutout to chaemin for absolutely owning this role 👏🏻 you killed it from ep1 till the finale!! ❤️🔥 you've worked so hard chaeminiee, im so so proud of youuu 💐💖"
In the same interview, Lee mentioned that he works hard for every project but had very little time for the latest K-drama. So, he "felt an obsession and responsibility" to give his best. The actor "reduced sleep" and watched reference videos whenever possible. This explains how dedicated he was throughout the filming of the K-drama.
