Fans have concocted yet another bizarre 1923 theory, but this time it is as bizarre as it is plausible. If this fan theory turns out to be true, it will completely turn the Yellowstone Family Tree upside down. The family war waged by the Duttons against Donald Whitefield finally comes to a head in the season 2 finale of the drama.
According to this theory, Spencer Dutton and Elizabeth Strafford might be linked by more than just Spencer's nephew, Jack Dutton. Here's what the bizarre fan theory predicts for the upcoming 1923 sequel
Bizarre Fan Theory for 1923 that might affect the Yellowstone Family Tree

In the 1923 Season 2 finale, Spencer Dutton walks to his wife, Alexandra Dutton's, grave in a 45-year time jump to 1969, and collapses. As Spencer dies, Elsa Dutton, the narrator, tells us that her brother never forgot his wife after her death in the second season, and he dreamed only about reuniting with his wife in the afterlife. Elsa also tells the audience that even though reuniting with Alexandra is all he thought about, Spencer did take
"the comfort of a widow, and made another boy."
Elsa tells the audience that Spencer never remarried after Alexandra died, but he took the support and comfort of a widow and had another boy with her. According to the bizarre fan theory, the widow being referred to by Elsa is Elizabeth Strafford, Spencer's nephew Jack Dutton's widow. If this rather ridiculous theory actually turns out to be the truth, screenwriter Taylor Sheridan is setting up for a thrilling new season.
Jack Dutton, Spencer's nephew, died a terrible death in the second-to-last episode of 1923, leaving his wife Elizabeth Strafford a widow. Spencer Dutton was also left a widower after his wife, Alexandra, died giving birth to their baby, as she refused to let the doctors treat her for hypothermia over her baby's life. Even though Spencer managed to save Alexandra and her baby from dying of hypothermia on the train tracks, he was unable to save his wife from dying later after giving birth to their child.

Screenwriter Taylor Sheridan has been extremely vague about details of the new season, but this is understandable if the fan theory has any grounds in reality (well, fictional reality to be exact). This theory can be plausible if we consider that Elizabeth might have returned to the Yellowstone Ranch with her child to visit Cara Dutton.
During this visit, the widow and widower might bond over their similar fate and the death of their significant others as a result of the war. Spencer and Elizabeth might understand each other in ways nobody else does and come closer as a result of this shared loss. However, the fact that Spencer yearns to be together with Alexandra in the afterlife, and Elizabeth is his dead nephew's wife, might keep him from ever marrying Elizabeth.
Spencer and Elizabeth having a child together would have great ramifications for the Yellowstone Family Tree, making Elizabeth Strafford the mother of two family descendants. Even though this theory is completely ridiculous, when laid down with the facts we do know, it is highly plausible that this will be explored in the next season of 1923.
