Irwin Allen’s The Time Tunnel: The Dimensions of Time has an exciting casting update. Set for a February 2026 release, the upcoming audio release continues Big Finish’s ongoing adaptation of the 1960s science-fiction series, pushing the story of its time-lost characters into new historical settings.
Sandra Dickinson has been onboarded to guest star in the series that is due for release in February 2026. The set will take the story of time-displaced travellers further in the upcoming project. But apart from her, an ensemble cast will team up to bring the project to life.

At the heart of The Time Tunnel: The Dimensions of Time remains four main characters introduced in the first volume titled The Nightmare Begins. Lewis Haworth entered the cast as Seán Carlsen, Safiyya Ingar played MB. Apart from these two, Jay Reum appeared as Cole Smith, and Clare MacGregor assumed the character of Rachel Handshaw.
Across the new box set, the group remains scattered temporally, as they journey through historical crises and the internal politics of Project Tic-Toc, the organisation behind the time-travel experiment.
Across the three episodes, Big Finish has confirmed a substantial guest cast, including John Schwab, Edwin Flay, Flavie Ravenhill, Nicholas McArdle, Rachel Lincoln, Andrew Wincott, Richard Unwin, Mark Elstob, and Todd Kramer. Apart from these stars, the show will also include Mark Arnold. Anthony Draper, Sanjay Lago, Conrad Westmaas.

Sandra Dickinson is the latest addition to the ensemble
According to the press release, Dickinson will feature in the very opening episode titled Families and Lies-June 28, 1969. This episode is written by Mark B Oliver. Dickinson will assume the character of Hazel Hawkins. Hazel is a widowed landlady in Greenwich Village.
Another character from the show, named Lily Dovecote, takes a room on rent from Hazel and is a young trans woman portrayed by Kim Tatum. The episode unfolds on the day before the Stonewall uprising.
The story sees Cole arrive alone in Manhattan, where his encounter with Hazel and Lily places the travellers on the edge of a key moment in LGBTQ history. Sandra Dickinson has also expressed admiration for the character's strength and positive qualities.
The second story from the box set shifts the action to fifteenth-century France during the final years of the Hundred Years’ War. The entry is titled Divine Intervention -April, 1429, which comes from Lisa McMullin.
While no single guest star is positioned as the focal point here, the episode introduces a range of supporting roles around Joan of Arc, expanding the revival’s historical reach and ensemble cast.
Rendezvous with Tomorrow – April 15th marks the third entry. This comes from Gary Hopkins, and the story places MB and Cole aboard the Titanic. This story also gives Clare MacGregor’s Rachel a more prominent role within Project Tic-Toc, as questions arise about whether history can truly be changed.

Dickinson is a familiar face in the sci-fi scene. She appeared as Trillian in the 1981 television adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In her long career, she has featured in titles such as The Tomorrow People and Thunderbirds Are Go.
Even in films, she is a recurrent name. Some of her most notable works in film include Superman III, Space Truckers, and The Batman. She will also appear in Edgar Wright’s forthcoming reimagining of The Running Man. Her casting in The Time Tunnel was revealed exclusively by Radio Times, positioning her as a headline guest for the second volume of the revival.
