The Rookie: What happens to Elijah Stone? Details from the ABC police procedural explored

Brandon Jay McLaren’s Elijah Stone is not a character for the faint of heart. From his first arrival in The Rookie, he has created chaos and trouble for the other characters. His engagement with the police department began with Wesley Evers. When Wesley wanted his help, Stone offered assistance in exchange for information about his wife.

From using manipulative techniques to spread misinformation to creating chaos, he always stayed two steps ahead of the police. However, at the end of Season 5, things took a different turn for him. So, exactly how does this criminal kingpin get tangled and end up in jail in the series?

How does Elijah Stone end up in jail in The Rookie?

Elijah Stone was definitely creating a lot of trouble for the police department in The Rookie. He was too sly to get caught and always had an escape plan ready. After his criminal activities began to get further complicated with Wesley Evers’ involvement, there was no turning back for him.

From using Evers to get his henchman released from prison to discrediting a witness when Elijah Stone’s cousin was involved in a crime, he forced Evers to do all his dirty work without repercussions. However, his good days eventually came to an end when Evers began to retaliate.

Working for such a criminal was becoming too much for Evers, so he decided to make Elijah Stone pay for his actions. However, his first plan to catch Stone red-handed was completely ruined, as Elijah was too witty to fall for the wiretapping trap easily.

However, his entanglements with the criminal world become his Achilles’ heel, as Abril Rodas ambushes his men, leading to his being caught by the police. He manages to escape once again due to weaknesses in the case. At the end of the fifth season, Elijah is finally caught by the police during a drug deal.

Though he tries his best to get out of the situation using his fighting skills, he is outnumbered and sent to jail. We last see Elijah Stone in The Rookie in the fifth season. However, his story does not end there. At the end of the fifth season, we see Elijah planning an escape from prison.

After finding himself in the cell opposite Oscar, another villain in The Rookie, he begins plotting with him. This undoubtedly sets the stage for future events and his return to the series. Elijah’s interaction with Oscar indicates that he sees his incarceration as a temporary setback, laying the groundwork for his dynamic comeback.

Whether we will see Elijah Stone again in The Rookie is yet to be revealed. However, it will definitely be intriguing to see this crime boss return to create more chaos for the police officers to handle. Brandon Jay McLaren does an impeccable job of bringing out the complex nature of Elijah Stone in the series.
