After the explosive twist, The Resurrected Season 2 has to answer several burning questions. In Season 1, Hui-chun and Ching successfully brought down the Tai Chi Association and ended Chia-feng and Shi-kai's legacy; there are still numerous unanswered questions.
The revenge plot was solved, but with the revelation of Jin-jin in a more elaborate plan to take over Shi-kai's empire, the plot has thickened, and the mothers' act ended with this devastating plot twist. The mothers brought Shi-kai back from the dead, avenged the death and mistreatment of many young women, but does this end the huge empire that he and Yueh-hsin had built, or is there more to be revealed?
While the show hasn't been renewed yet, we have listed 5 burning questions that The Resurrected Season 2 has to answer, if it happens.
5 burning questions that The Resurrected Season 2 needs to answer
1) The extent of Jin Jin's involvement
We know that Shi-kai lied when he told the mothers that Jin-jin sold the girls. On the contrary, she was the one who became the reason for all the girls to escape Paradise for good. However, the plot twist at the end has introduced more puzzling information.
It was revealed that after Shi-kai talked to Mr. Yang about taking over the Tai Chi Association, Jin Jin was the second person he talked to, and she told him about her desire to take control of Shi-kai's business. Furthermore, at the end of Season 1, she also gains consciousness, which is questionable after her prolonged coma.
In The Resurrected Season 2, more about Jin Jin's plan and how much she was involved should be revealed as the plot twist brought her to the centre of the narrative.
2) More about Mr. Yang and Pong
We did not see much of Mr. Yang, but he definitely has an important role in Shi-kai's business and might be the next in line to control the whole thing. He is also the one Jin jin reveals her sinister plans to, and as Shi-kai and Yueh-hsin are dead now, he might now add Jin jin to the business as she always wanted. However, more about him and his intentions has to be revealed as he was still the mysterious figure who worked for Shi-kai.
It is also speculated that he was the one who ordered Jin Jin's ambulance to be stopped at the end. Apart from Mr. Yang, Pong is also another character that needs to be explored more in The Resurrected Season 2. At the end, he is the one who gets the crypto wallet, making him the owner of a large amount of money.
He has been a helping hand for the mothers in their revenge quest. In Season 2, it would be interesting to look into his backstory and also find out whether he was still on the mothers' side or not.
3) Is Eason dead?
Eason has helped the mothers a lot in their schemes and even lured Christina to get a hold of their money and the crypto wallet. However, while protecting the wallet from Chi-feng's men, he gets severely injured. In the series, Pong informs the women that Eason might not come back alive from the operating theatre.
However, in a show that can bring back the dead, it might eventually not kill Eason, as with new developments in the plot, Hui-chun might need him more in The Resurrected Season 2. Furthermore, he also has an unresolved romance plot with Hui-chun that needs to be explored more.
4) More about the Shamans
Apart from the crime thriller narrative of the Netflix Taiwanese series, it also introduced several supernatural elements. With Shi-kai brought back for seven days, we now know that they can bring back people from the dead. However, they are still one of the mysterious elements of the series.
In The Resurrected Season 2, more about them should be revealed. Furthermore, at the end of Season 1, it is shown that the temple where the shamans resided was raided. In Season 2, questions about whether they were captured to solve someone else's sinister plans and the identity of who raided the temple might be revealed.
5) Is Shi-kai and Yueh-hsin's empire destroyed?
The main goal of both mothers was to bring down Shi-kai's empire. At the end of Season 1, they appeared to achieve their goals. However, with a well-connected network, the question arises whether this was the only extent of the business.
If there is more to Yueh-hsin's human trafficking business, the mothers might return to dismantle more of it. But this time might bring Yueh-hsin back from the dead, to help them navigate her elaborate, sinister business. However, with the shamans being raided, there might be several challenges that they have to face in The Resurrected Season 2.
