Full Nelson, the Peacemaker Season 2 finale, concludes with a huge setup for the DCU. Moreover, it also wraps up all the storylines that have been seeded ever since the first episode. However, James Gunn sneakily sets up a big bad that many may not realize while watching the episode. A.R.G.U.S. agents explore the different universes through the QUC under Rick Flag Sr.'s orders in this episode.

The A.R.G.U.S. team, consisting of Emilia Harcourt and Sasha Bordeaux, discovers a quaint and lush green planet, which is later dubbed "Salvation" by Rick Flag Sr. This Peacemaker Season 2 episode later reveals that he intends to banish supervillains across the DCU. For the uninitiated, this idea is similar to the seven-issue event Salvation Run, which was published between 2007-2008.

Like in the comics, we learn that "Salvation" might not be as quaint as it looked, because we hear some demonic creatures' noise off-screen. If the DCU is adapting this comic book storyline, we may also learn that the planet is connected to the ruler of the planet Apokolips, Darkseid.

Full Nelson begins with a flashback to Emilia and Chris at the party boat a month before the events of the season 2 premiere. Later, the scene shifts to the present as Christopher is in prison after A.R.G.U.S. had him arrested in the closing minutes of the penultimate episode of Peacemaker Season 2. Meanwhile, Flag Sr. has A.R.G.U.S. explore different doors in the QUC.

Sasha Bordeaux and Emilia Harcourt find a world that looks habitable on the surface. Sasha learns that Flag Sr. intends to use the planet for marooning DC supervillains and justifies this plan by pointing to the breakouts at Belle Reve Prison and the Arkham Asylum. This has Sasha disillusioned, and she calls Emilia to inform her of Flag Sr.'s plan.

Sasha expresses her intention not to work for A.R.G.U.S. anymore, prompting Emilia to take her to Leota Adebayo, who explains her security firm's plan. Then, Emilia and the rest of the 11th Street Kids locate a bailed-out Chris at a motel with Sasha and convince him to return. This is where Emilia also reveals her feelings to Chris, and the gang reunites.

The ending montage sees the 11th Street Kids establish Adebayo's security firm, which is titled "Checkmate". Also a part of Checkmate are Sasha, Judomaster, and Langston Fleury, meaning they have left A.R.G.U.S. But this happiness is short-lived as Chris is abducted by masked men, which turns out to be A.R.G.U.S. agents.

Rick Flag Sr. maroons Chris in Salvation to see how the human body reacts to the atmosphere of the alien planet and closes the QUC portal. But Salvation might not be as idyllic as viewers initially believed. As the Peacemaker Season 2 episode comes to a close, Chris and viewers hear some demonic screams, and the screen cuts to black.

What does the Peacemaker Season 2 finale's ending mean?

Chris is stranded on an alien planet with unseen hostile forces. Soon, he might be surrounded by several other supervillains across the DCU. Thus, Christopher Smith has to find ways to ward off attacks from not just one but two sides. If Gunn is adapting the Salvation Run storyline from the comics, DeSaad (Darkseid's minion) might be overseeing the planet for the ruler of Apokolips.

Salvation Run's storyline is very similar to Marvel's 2006 Civil War event, where the government passes laws that could breach the civil liberties of the super-powered individuals in their respective universes. The synopsis for the DC event reads:

"Don't miss the stunning debut issue of a 7-part miniseries written by Bill Willingham (SHADOWPACT, FABLES) with art by superstar Sean Chen (Iron Man, X-Men: The End) and Walden Wong (COUNTDOWN TO MYSTERY, DAY OF VENGEANCE)! The world has finally had enough of the villains of the DCU — so they're exiling the evildoers to another planet, where they'll be left to their own diabolical devices! Who will thrive…and who will survive?"
