The Last Frontier, a crime thriller series created by Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D'Ovidio, premiered on Apple TV+ on October 10. The show kicked off with a double episode feature that introduced us to the main players. Episode 3 will release on October 17.

The Last Frontier is set in the snowy Wilderness of Alaska, guarded by US Marshall Frank Remnick. Since Frank's tight-knit community is peaceful and usually remains calm, he plans to retire and open a bed and breakfast with his wife, Sarah. Danger knocks on Frank's quiet Alaskan town when a deadly plane crash unleashes dangerous fugitives.

The double-episode premiere revealed that one of the loose fugitives, named Havlock, is a former CIA agent who went rogue after a secret undercover mission. Frank partners with CIA agent Sidney Scofield sent to capture Havlock. However, their plans go sideways when Havlock dupes Frank and takes his wife hostage.

The Last Frontier Episode 3: Release and streaming details

The Last Frontier Episode 3 titled 'Country as F**k' will be released on Apple TV+ on October 17. While the platform has not revealed the official release time for Episode 3, new episodes are usually dropped at midnight Pacific Time (PT) on Apple TV+ in the US.

Apple TV+'s latest crime thriller series will drop weekly episodes every Friday till the finale (Episode 10), which is scheduled to release on December 5.

What can you expect from The Last Frontier Episode 3?

The official description for Episode 3 reads as follows:

Sarah's disappearance adds urgency to Frank's search. Havlock's master plan takes an unexpected turn, increasing the number of hostages.

The Last Frontier premiere concluded on a shocking cliffhanger, where Havlock duped Frank and Sidney and stole the flight deck recorder. Additionally, he also left a mysterious ice box for Frank at the drop site, the contents of which were not revealed to us. The upcoming episode will open in the aftermath of this cliffhanger, where Frank will continue his search for Havlock. While the former CIA agent is already a great threat, he currently has Frank's wife as hostage, increasing the stakes of the protagonist's mission.

The synopsis for Episode 3 also suggests that Havlock will continue to play his little games against Sidney and Frank and will likely take more hostages. With Archive 6 and the flight deck recording in his possession, he has become even more dangerous.


Who is in the cast of The Last Frontier?

Apple TV's latest thriller series is led by Australian actor Jason Clarke, who plays the role of Frank Remnick, a US Marshall pulled out of his retirement plans when a plane crash unleashes dangerous fugitives into his tight-knit Alaskan town. Clarke is best known for playing Tommy Caffee in Showtime's 2006 crime drama series Brotherhood. Recently, he also played the role of Roger Robb in Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning biographical film Oppenheimer, starring Cillian Murphy.

In addition to Jason Clarke, The Last Frontier features an ensemble cast, including Dominic Cooper as Havlock, Haley Bennett as Sidney Scofield, Simone Kessell as Sarah Remnick, Tait Blum as Luke Remnick, Alfre Woodard as Bradford and Dallas Goldtooth as Hutch.
