The Golden Bachelorette premiered its debut season on September 18, 2024, on ABC at 8 pm ET/PT. The show is another spin-off from the Bachelor franchise, only this time the star is 61-year-old Joan Vassos trying to give another chance at love.
Joan Vassos hails from Maryland and worked there as a school administrator. Joan is not new to the Bachelor franchise, as she participated in The Golden Bachelor, before debuting her show.
The premiere episode had 6 gentlemen leave the show, as they did not get the rose from Joan, and the remaining 18 moved forward to impress Joan. In episode 2 of The Golden Bachelorette, contestants were looking forward to the new challenges to ultimately receive a rose from Joan.
Episode 2 came with a nostalgic prom night, a ride through Disneyland, and a Golden talent showcase. The episode also bid farewell to Bob, Jack, Christopher, and Michael. Only 14 men are left to vie for Joan's golden rose and reach the top 4 for the finale.
As far as the prediction goes, Reality Steve, the Bachelor blogger shared his predictions for the finale on September 19 via his Instagram. The Post disclosed that the top 4 would be the Hometown Dates this season which included Pascal Ibgui, Chock Chapple, Guy Gansert, and Jordan Heller.
The Golden Bachelorette Season 1 Episode 2 recap
The Golden Bachelorette Season 1, Episode 2 aired on September 25 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. The episodes are also available on Hulu to watch a day after its release on ABC.
After bidding farewell to 6 contestants on the first day of the show, Joan decided to enter week 2 with some high school memories and invited Gary, Bob, Jonathan, Charles L., Mark, Jordan, Guy, and Keith to a prom night.
Joan was dressed in a white shimmery gown and waited for the men on the driveway to join her for the senior prom. The party was nostalgic and fun as Joan said,
"We are having such a good time. It is like the perfect first date."
Jonathan won over Joan on the date night and was given the group date rose. He revealed during the episode that it was his first prom because he missed the one in high school after being rejected.
Joanathan's vulnerable side made Joan's heart melt. But Chock was the one to steal the first solo date of the season and got the chance to take a trip to Disneyland with Joan.
The two went on a dinner and opened up about their past relationships. Chock took the opportunity and told Joan that she reminded him of his wife, which made The Golden Bachelorette Joan feel safe and honored.
Another date night was still waiting, the Golden Talent Show. The rest of the men Dan, Charles K., Gil, Pascal, Kim, Christopher, Gregg, Michael, and Jack stepped out of their comfort zone and performed their hearts out to impress Joan.
Dan, who performed a refreshing ribbon dance won Joan's attention and a one-on-one dinner date.
Dan shared his vulnerabilities with Joan and expressed that due to his health issues, he was insecure that anybody would be with him. Joan showed confidence in him and told him to stay true to himself, and offered him the rose.
Lastly, during the rose ceremony of The Golden Bachelorette, the other men who got the rose from Joan were Mark, Gary, Pascal, Jordan, Charles K., Keith, Gil, Charles L., Kim, Gregg, and Guy.
Episode 3 of The Golden Bachelorette will premiere on October 2, on ABC at 8 pm ET/PT.
