Tastefully Yours Episode 4 recap: Love sparks and suspicions about the fire grow

Yeon-joo and her team returned in Tastefully Yours Episode 4 titled Love is Like a Spark, in which they didn't just create a stronger bond, but Beom-woo also got the chance to finally express his feelings. The story kicks off with Youn-hye trying to expose Beom-woo but fails.

But what really stings is hearing Beom-woo say he thinks Yeon-joo is the more talented chef. Not only this, he even asked her to leave the town so as not to mess with his plan. Later, at night, Beom-woo couldn't help but think of how Yeon-joo didn't get affected by Young-hye's words.

He had no idea that Yeon-joo was now staying right next door, as her own room was left unlivable after the fire. The next morning, the two head out to shop for ingredients for the upcoming food truck competition.

As Yeon-joo carefully hunts for the perfect crab, Beom-woo casually brings up Young-hye, his so-called ex-girlfriend. Yeon-joo asks if he’s finally cut ties with her. Sensing something in her tone, Beom-woo grins and teases, asking if Young-hye bothers her. Without missing a beat, Yeon-joo shoots back, “Something must be wrong with your head.”

Tastefully Yours Episode 4 recap: Yeon-joo and team prepare for the food truck contest

As seen in the previous episode of Tastefully Yours, Yeon-joo needs around five million won to repair her restaurant, and they can get it by winning the prize money for the food truck contest, which is exactly the same amount.

At the local shop, Beom-woo excitedly throws out ideas for the competition, like steak or a fancy meal box, but Yeon-joo doesn’t seem impressed. As she keeps brushing off his suggestions, he grows frustrated, especially when she proposes something as simple as gimbap instead.

In the festival, their Jungjae team faces an uphill battle. While others, particularly the La Lecel team of Young-hye, supported by rich and cunning Sun-woo with elegant setups, Jungjae's team is left with an outdated food cart.

Even before the competition starts, Sun-woo throws another surprise by doubling the prize to 10 million won, increasing the stakes and competition. The first day, Yeon-joo Truck performs well and they become the first team to close early as they sold all their gimbaps.

As Tastsefully Yours Episode 4 continues, their truck starts off slow the next day, thanks to Young-Hye's team for trying their best to sabotage them. But Beom-woo, showing both leadership and faith in Yeon-joo, brings in higher-quality ingredients and encourages her to experiment with the dish.

Yeon-joo's creativity results in a crowd-pleasing upgrade, turning their fortunes around. Adding to their success is Chun-seung, who crafted his non-alcoholic moju, which he named the special "Chun-Seung moju". The drink pairs beautifully with the food, which further makes Yeon-joo happy.

In a rather cheeky marketing move, Chun-seung and Myung-sook spark a rumor that Beom-woo and Yeon-joo are a married couple expecting a child. Whether people believe it or not, the story tugs at hearts and brings curious, supportive festival-goers to their stand in Tastefully Yours Episode 4.

Romance brews between Yeon-joo and Beom-woo in Tastefully Yours Episode 4

Amidst the chaos in Tastefully Yours Episode 4, romance quietly brews. Beom-woo becomes visibly more drawn to Yeon-joo throughout the episode. By the end, that quiet tension builds into a major moment: he pulls her into a kiss, openly expressing his feelings in a way that feels bold and emotionally charged.

But not all ends on a sweet note. Even Jungjae's best effort cannot carry the day, and it's Young-hye's La Lecel team that wins first place in the Tastefully Yours episode, leaving the rest disappointed. Beom-woo is especially hurt, not only because they lost but also because he suspects cheating.

He calls Sun-woo out directly, accusing him of tampering with the competition. And perhaps being involved with the fire that destroyed their restaurant. Sun-woo protests, but the suspicion lingers.

Tastefully Yours Episode 5 preview

The stakes will be high in Tastefully Yours Episode 5 as Beom-woo is in love with Yeon-joo, while she seems weighed down by something she's not ready to share. The preview also features her breaking down and we finally see Yoo Yeon-seok making a cameo.

The actor from When the Phone Rings appears to be a chef as well, as he was also there in an old photograph. While not much has been revealed about his role, Tastefully Yours Episode 5 will finally reveal his connection to Yeon-joo.
