It is also revealed that Pike's girlfriend Batel is also back after her near-death experience with the Gorn, and the crew holds a welcome-back party for her.

So, were Pike and his crew able to contain Vezda's evil?

Here is the complete Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 finale recap.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 10 recap- The evil Vezda possesses Gamble

The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 finale begins with Dr. Korby on an archeological mission on Skygowan, an alien planet, where the inhabitants are working to achieve immortality.

Elsewhere, during a routine ship scan, when the crew shuts down the medical transporter, Scotty discovers an anomaly. They wonder how anyone can access the transporter without M'Benga's clearance, as it's DNA-locked. However, when Scotty rebuilds the DNA through emergency backups, it matches with Ensign Dana Gamble. La’an and the crew realize that the Vezda has resurrected Gamble's body and activated the transporter within him and has now possessed him to control Skygowan.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 10 recap- Crew's tactical operation on Skygowan

Just as Pike and his crew realise that Dr. Korby is stuck on Skygowan with the evil Vezda, they begin a tactical operation to bring Korby back and contain Vezda's threat. The landing party consists of Una, M’Benga, Uhura, Chapel, and La’an, who are to access the public spaces of the planet through the portals. While Una acts drunk to distract the guards, La'an performs a Vulcan neck pinch on the guard and enters through the portal.

In the Skygowan temple, Korby greets the crew and fills them in on Vezda/Gamble's rule over the planet. He tells the crew that Vezda is revered as a God, and we see him addressing a crowd, saying that the final days are here. The people seem to be in a trance-like state around the Vezda in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3, as they stab their own eyes upon hearing the Vezda speak.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 10 recap- A bittersweet goodbye

In Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3, M'Benga realizes that it's his destiny to be with the Vezda inside one of these portals, as he practically allowed Vezda to possess Gamble's body. As Vezda attacks M'Benga, they both fall into one of the portals, which M'Benga realizes looks like one of the prisons in Vadia IX.

Vezda confirms that he will release evil spirits on the Skygowan people and torment them for centuries. With this, he strikes the crystalline structure over the well containing the orbs, which has a chain reaction on the Enterprise, and Batel experiences a sharp pain in her chest, and her eyes change to tiny galaxies. Chapel announces that when the Gorn took Batel, they changed her anatomy, and she is now the Beholder, who can kill the Vezda.

Batel claims that it is her destiny to finish off the Vezda. Spock performs a mind meld and synchronizes his mind with Pike to give him access to the portal, and Pike and Batel arrive on the planet's portal. They manage to find M'benga, but he is soon attacked by Vezda, who calls out Pike. Batel says that only she can destroy him, and with this, she stands up to the Vezda, her hands glowing. The Vezda strikes back and destroys the Beholder statue with an energy blast. However, Batel says that she carries light that the Vezda cannot touch and fires away, thus becoming the Beholder statue. As Vezda is destroyed along with all his demons in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3, Batel is now transformed into the statue with the orbs.

Before Batel did her final trick against the Vezda in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 10, Pike got a peek into the alternate reality where he is happily married to Batel on Earth. The couple celebrated many anniversaries together, saw the birth and marriage of their daughter, and Pike finally held Batel's hand on her deathbed. However, these events were not real, as confirmed in the end, and this was something that Pike had wanted with Batel, but he seemingly lost her in the battle against Vezda.

In the final moments of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3 Episode 10, Spock tells Pike that Korby has discovered a bunch of new planets for the crew to explore, which will easily take them on a five-year mission. The episode ends as Pike announces, "Hit it" (taking Batel's memories with him) for a new mission.
